LG enV2 (VX-9100)

Dealing with the env2 LG.

Okay, today [March 13] my phone started acting out? Uhm, it turned off so I went back to turn it on. So when I turned it back on it did turn on but the Internal and External screen did not. So I can't see anything, and I don't know if my phones malfunctioning or what?

Facts:
**I have dropped my phone, but not severely.
**I have a phone cover, which affects my phone?

I've had the enV2 for about 6 months and the battery just recently wouldn't hold a charge, about 5-6 hours tops. Verizon was really good about replacing it but the new battery now only lasts about 8 hours and is decreasing daily. All the reviews I've read rave about the battery life but i have never seen it. Any suggestions?

Just wondering before buying the phone... If I receive a text can I read it without opening the phone? And if so... Can I also reply? I'm sure it is mentioned in this forum but couldnt find anything.

Phone noob here... I got this phone when it first came out hence the v. 3. How do I update the software on the phone.. i believe the latest is v. 6 or 7. What are some updates that come with the phone when the software is updated? I tried to google and yahoo to find where to do it but I can't come up with a good answer. Thanks for your help.

Is there any way to set this phone up so when messaging each conversation is in a string of conversation and not individual messages

I bought a USB cable on the Internet. I installed the VCAST driver. I was able to access the phone as a mass storage device, with a drive letter, and I copied a couple of songs on there. They played; so, I know that it worked. BitPim recognized the phone.

A few days later I tried again. The computer no longer recognizes that phone as a mass storage device, with an assigned drive letter. However, BitPim still recognizes the phone. If I go into tools and select "USB Mass Storage," I get an error that the card is not installed.

I can insert the micro flash card into the phone and the computer will access the card as a mass storage device. However, I cannot access the phone itself.

Is there a way to turnt the little blue banner off at the bottom of my screen. I dont want to turn my alarm off every day so that it will go away.

OK...I will be switching to VZW in about 3 months and so far, the enV2 is one of my top choices. My biggest concern is all the reports of pocket-dialing. Now I'm reading threads that claim a new software update has fixed this. Really? Exactly how did a software update fix a physical problem with the phone? Please explain because I'm really hoping that it was actually fixed. Thanks!

My LG env2 shuts down from time to time and I have to remove the battery temporarily to power up. Does anyone have advice? Does this mean the battery is no good or is it a defect with the phone?

I have the env 2 and really like the phone EXCEPT I use the notepad alot. There is a problem with the notepad where the entries will periodically disappear. Verizon said since it is an inherant problem which they have no cure for they would replace it with the Voyager. Does anyone have and knowledge how the Voyager stacks up against the env 2. I read the comparisons on line but wanted personal feed back. Thanks

I was wondering if anyone can help me out here.
I've had this enV2 for a few months now and I have recently been having problems with the front screen. It started out fine, eventually the "OK" button stopped working to a point where had to press it a few times before it would work. Now it, along with the zero, star, and pound buttons are failing to function altogether.

Please reply, any advice would be appreciated.

Can the env2 watch youtube? If so, how do i do that?

One of the reasons I got the env2 was OTA / FOTA - Firmware Over The Air update capability.

When is Verizon going to enable it from the server side? You go down to the store, wait in line, then wait 45-60 min for them to flash it!

Inconvenience and time waste all round. And the staff don't even understand FOTA or admit it exists for the phone, nor can tell you what fixes are included in the firmware update.

Yesterday, they told me V6 added "Visual Voicemail, no mention of other fixes. Nor could they tell me what was included in V4!

Fixes key guard issues, fixes issues with pictures as well as giving you the ability to use the visual voicemail.

Call your local Verizon store to confirm that they have the update. 😁

I haven't had a NEW phone for over 3 years, and I need one bad. I really like the look of the LG env2.

I don't text a lot, b/c I am single at the moment. Is the env2 worth all the trouble I have heard about dailing while in pockets(big concern), crappy keyguard, no flash, autofocus, no lens protection, limited external display etc etc.

Plus, is the phone too girly??? I would get the black version, but its seems to me, having that thing flipped open all the time, idk....

Since I don't text all the time, and would prop would text while it was closed, is the phone worth it???

I have just heard LG makes a way better phone than moto/samsung. It has great battery life, and I can't get over the look of it.

Has anyone heard anything about a software update for this phone? It's still relatively new I don't understand the lack of support for its software. The amount of bugs in the UI is really irritating.

I am on my second maroon enV2. Both have he same glitch. When I take a picture and try to save it, the phone powers down without warning, it shuts off and turns itself back on. Both did same exact thing and it is randomly, does not do it every time. Any advice?

I ordered the second one via tech support. Only had first one for 9 days..now have had this one for 4 days and same problem. ☹️

turn off the little blue banner at the bottom of the screen telling me that my alarm is set, my phone is on vibrate, etc.

I know if I turn off my alarms and turn my ringer on, it will go away... but I am at work and have to have it on vibrate, and I don't want to turn off my daily alarm just so I can turn it back on tonight.

Any ideas?
