Nokia N75

How can they release this phone with no A2DP? Thats just dumb! And they push it as a music phone with the controls on the front! No thanks! Buy a Samsung U600!

THIS TOTALLY SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

I work for a Corporate Cingular/AT&T store here in Las Vegas and today our Nokia sales rep for Las Vegas came in and HAD the Nokia N75 with her and it was branded Cingular. I asked her when it would come out and this was her response:

Nokia Rep:

The phone is done but held up in legal issues that I can't explain at the moment

Me:

So what does that mean for us, when do we get it???

Nokia Rep:

The Cingular branded phones are done, but if the legal issues aren't finished by the 25th of this month then the Cingular branded Nokia N75’s will be sent back to be branded with AT&T and have the firmware updated for AT&T pushing the launch back to sometime in mid May

I think we can all forget about this phone coming out before Summer. The iphone is being released in June, and according to everybody at AT&T, this is going to be the next big seller and has priority over everything else. AT&T (cingular) tried to change the n75 too much because of all the bug problems the n-series were having in Europe, which in turn upset Nokia

Not sure whos all seen this, but i was shown today at my local kiosk a poster they had recieved showing the N7S and promoting 30 days free trial of napster along with it, in the photo the N75 HAS AN ATT BRAND NOT CINGULAR confirming again maybe thats why they delayed it. if none of you have seen this poster i gave pics of it, just let me know

Well, it looks like we'll most likely have this phone soon (I hope) so I've been thinking about what accessories I'm going to need.

Definitely:
-a 2 GB microSD or two
-case w/belt clip (the Nokia(?) one on Cingular's site looks good)
-bluetooth stereo headphones (I have the Nokia BH900 headset, which I don't like BTW, and have been eyeballing the BH500s for the extra stereo capability)
-car charger

What else would be useful with this phone? What's the best online place for reliable service and good prices outside of eBay?

Hell at least I can play with my accessories while waiting on my N75(s). 🤤

Managed to chat with one of the guys I trust today and he looked things up in the system and then made a few calls for me on the release.

The comment was the phone was due to be released last week. Again it was delayed they have an internal order date for for the stores of April 24th that puts it in the stores a week or two later. He expects to get an internal notification no more than the week prior to release.

The delays are all to do with Cingular wanting to have things removed form the phone and Nokia wanting them to remain. This is the general flow with Nokia that is why most Nokia phones get delayed through Cingy. I asked about branding and the comment was not even a big deal yet. They want AT&T but for now that will not sto...

Their system is only telling them "Coming Soon". They said their best guess was sometime in the next month or two. Other than that, there is NO definitive date. I'm pretty sure anyone throwing dates out is FOS or smoking weed. 🙄

On the other hand, they had a ****load of release dates for new Motos....95% of which were new variations on the.....you guessed it.....RAZR! The "platinum" RAZR V3xx released yesterday.

As the release date gets pushed back at Negri, they usually say something like this: "We expect this product to be in stock on such-and-such date"

Now they have this to say about the N75: "This product was added to our catalog on Thursday 01 March, 2007."

Just adding fuel to the fire. They are selling the phone as "Cingular (unlocked)."

Well this is of course probably gargage, since most stuff posted on here turns out to be that way. But I went by my friend's cingular store today for lunch, and he had just talked to his nokia rep. And she said she hadn't heard anything concrete, but she said by the sounds of it, it would be middle of may at earliest. Who knows, I work for verizon, so I have absolutely no inside scoup to speak of except from friends...

There has got to be someone within Cingular that really knows the skinny on this. Have to quit listening to the "higher ups" .. and find somebody in receiving ... or shipping on the Nokia side.

I have a Cingy source that claims they won an N75 recently .. but she hasn't got hers either ...

I'm voting on the rebranding thing .. I posted that about a month ago ...

Does nobody seriously have any clue what so ever about this phone? I mean there are ten pages of speculation on this phone, I would imagine that there havn't been any phones on here with this kind of anticipation. What could cingular/att be thinking? I mean I personally know five people who are desperatly waiting on this phone? I really doubt at this point this phone will come out, I mean really, what kind of "bugs", "rebranding", etc could possibly take seven months to straighten out? I think we all need to face the face that this phone will be old news by the time it actually comes out. The whole reason I switched to Cingular was to get a nokia phone on a decent network (t-maybe...) and now my only choices are the forever old 6102 and...

Now they've added another day and made the ETA the 18th. Also my sister's birthday and the day of my court date for that "red light" i went through that was really still yellow. Damn Newtown Borough cop.

Maybe it will be n75 release day, too? Who knows.

This thing has got to be coming soon, Amazon has a page up for it already. Add that to the Nokia site being up for half a day, the support site and user guides posted....I have a feeling this week is the one.

For those who have the phone, how's the battery life of the N75.

I know that the 6126 has some issues with a quick-draining battery.

Accorfing to AT&T/Cingular Today was the deadline for any phones to be released with the Cingular Brand on them, any phones released after today will have to be re-branded and re programmed with AT&T software stalling their release. If this is accurate then the N75 will not be released til May or June as some have said. Anyone who owns a phone with Cingular branding will notice in the next few months a change on the display, switching to AT&T instead of saying Cingular. Currently all phones now activated from today will say AT&T ON THE DISPLAY
