Player error

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me out. I have searched various threads but couldn't find a solution. I am trying to put music (my own from cd's) and I keep getting a "Player Error" "Music not available" message. I followed some of the advice on a few threads after searching the topic however, I can't find a solution to the error message. I have been working on this for a while and I am getting very frustrated. Any suggestions? The last thing I tried as per a past thread was to format card in the phone, sync to wm player, move songs into the My music folder turned on phone play songs...well, tried to play them 😕

Anybody? Thanks in advance!

What video formats can I play on the U740?

I loaded a .WMV file on my micro card and it says it cannot play, yet I can play just fine on my PC.

Bluetooth issues

Was wondering if anyone eles is having the same issues that I am with bluetooth reception with this phone.

I just had the Verizon store swap me out for a new phone because the bluetooth reception is very poor. I find that the closer the phone is to the earpiecce (like in a pocket on the same side of your body that the earpiece is to your ear) gets you the best reception, otherwise, it starts to get garbled and scratchy.

I've changed out bluetooth earpieces (they're the Motorola H500 and H700) and they both have the same problem, yet, when I use those same earpieces with my other cellphone (a Moto Razr) there's no problem whatsoever.

I thought I just got a bad phone, but I'm finding that the new one does the same thing.

Anyone ...

Anyone Switch from a Razr?

I am currently a Razr owner considering moving to this new Sammy. I had a Samsung (a530) prior to owning my Razr and was very happy with it. Just looking for some insight from people who have owned both phones. Thanks in advance!

Good review

I own this phone and it only took me a few days to get accustomed with the numbers while in landscape mode, and texting is a breeze with a little practice. I do everything in landscape mode do to the great speaker phone, and the ability to use it while the phone is closed. Good review I don't think this phone is getting the attention it deserves, its a great phone as your review clearly pointed out.

Disapointed

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have had a very rough time with this phone. I have had this phone a little over 2 weeks now and am on my 2nd phone. The first one would not play any on my music. It was a problem with the phone reading off my card.

My second phone played the music as soon as I put the card in so I was very happy about that. Except now when I have the phone open to text I can slip my finger between the back and where the keys are.

I am very disapointed because I really like this phone, but I'm not sure its worth all the trouble. Going on three phone in three weeks is crazy I think.

Not sure what I will do, I'm thinking of going with the envy. Either that or I will go back to the old phone and wait fo...

Good Job

I thought it was a decent review, although I think you spent too much time on the texting issues. It would have been nice to see some of the other features of the phone such as the camera quality and the voice to text feature. All in all it was very easy to follow, and i look forward to some more video reviews from you.

Picture on front screen

On my old Samsung phone, I was able to see the picture of the person calling on the front screen. Even though I attach a picture of the person on the contact list, I still cannot get the picture to come up when the person calls. Has anyone had any luck doing this or did they remove this feature from this model?

Thanks for your help!

Update for Mac Users

I was concerned when I read the following in in the Phone's quick reference guide: "Q: Are iPod and iTunes music files with my V-Cast Music-capable phone?" The answer was basically "No." However, I found that there were no problems with just taking iTunes Music (MP-3) and simply dragging and dropping them into the My-Flix folder that is created when you formatt your memory card.

You can't drag an album folder to the memory. The MP3 files must be moved directly to the memory card. However, strangely enough the software still recognizes Album names, individual songs, and the like. Setting up pictures were done in a similar manner by first converting on the Mac to 1280X960 files (previously suggested) in order for the software to recognize...

still undecided, 8600?

I have now had this phone for a week and I love most of it, my real problem with it has been the layout and smallness of the number keys. I really fear that making the everyday phone call will get tougher and tougher for these old eyes! I am considering the 8600 instead since it seems to be basically the same phone without the query board. Any words of advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Picture taking

Can anyone tell me why the photo on the front screen is different than the main screen when taking a picture in motion. I've found that when the subject is in motion such as trying to duck out on the shot, or if your hand moves, the front screen captures and freezes the image faster than the main screen. Is there anyway to save the shot captured on the main screen?
