still undecided, 8600?

I have now had this phone for a week and I love most of it, my real problem with it has been the layout and smallness of the number keys. I really fear that making the everyday phone call will get tougher and tougher for these old eyes! I am considering the 8600 instead since it seems to be basically the same phone without the query board. Any words of advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

absolutely not the same phone, this phone offers a few more little toys that the 8600 does not. ive only had mine for a week now too and i am just about used to the keyboard. if i were you i would stay with this phone but if you are someone who just wants a very high quality flip phone then yeah go with the 8600. The 8600 is a very very sturdy phone and a very stylish flip phone if i must say so myself.

What other little toys, besides the query board have you found on this phone that you think the 8600 doesn't have? I am also used to the keys for texting after a week, it is just the numbers that concern me.

the actually flash UI is pretty sweet. It has about 3 or 4 more camera modes and obviousley you would use the camera in landscape mode. Plus the camera on the 8600 looks like complete crap because its all blury and the quality blows even though it says it is the same as the sch-u740. Believe me the camera on the u740 is sooo much better. 5-6 little gadgets that were added under tools. a couple of other things but nothing huge.

Well, I traded in the Samsung u740 tonight for the LG 8600 and I agree with you 100 percent about the Samsung having a little more gadgets (which I truely enjoyed) BUT I think the camera on the LG is absolutely by far superior to the Samsung. The only other true advantage I see to the LG is the outside screen. It is truly crisp, clear and much bigger. I am going to give this phone a couple days but so far I am leaning towards getting the samsung back.

Ah, but would your decision have been the same with the 8700 now on line and due in stores on 4/16 with a higher resolution screen and a 2 Megapixel camera?

Well, the 8700 does not have a full keyboard. 😲

True, but my only point was if the decision between the 8600 and the u740 was hard to make, the 8700 has added some items that might make that decision even harder.
