Bitpim question

has anyone beenable to go into the phone with BITPIM yet? Is getting ringtones in easy? What other features would you be able to do with it? Wondering if it is worth getting the data cable

Ringtone Solution !!!

I found website that is free and allows you to make your own ringtones that work on this phone.
the only problem is you are limited to only 20 secs.

the ringtones almost rival the loud and clear ringtones on Vcast. guys this page really works i have loaded 7 new ringstones on my phone. The sites also compresses the size of the file so they come out smaller than vcast ringtones leaving you space for more ringtones.

have fun guys!!!! 😁 😁 😁 🤤 🤤 🤤

Front LCD

Hey guys..just a quick question. I'm looking to buy a new phone, i still got my VX-8000 (yea its been that long) and my contract is up. Just wondering if you can read txt's from the front screen, i've gotten so used to it over these past two years and i dont think i can live without it 🤭

and overall, how would you rate this phone.

thanks 😁

Analog reception?

Looking over quite a few references to the u740, I cannot find anything regarding its capability of analog reception. Does CDMA dual band accept analog signals or is something like the AMPS required? 👀

Put on your own Ringtones?

Has anyone tried to put on your own ringtones via a cut mp3. On my v710 there's a trick to do it with the outbox and I know on the Razr/krzr there was a trick to do it as well. Has anyone figured out a way to do it with this phone? I usually use vibrate but I was just wondering.

Can't Check Hotmail Acct with U740

I am so close to getting this phone to replace my Samsung A930, but from what I have read I wouldn't be able to pull up my Hotmail email on this phone.

The A930 does this easily.

Would also prefer the speakers on the outside of the phone like the A930. But to be fair, I haven't heard the speakers on this phone with it closed.

and the color sucks. Am going to wait and see if they come out w/ different color. Would put a skin on it, but since it's so new they don't have this phone listed on the website.

It seems like there are some interesting phones in the pipeline for 2007.

24 Hour Review

refer to review. i ran out of space but just wanted to add that there is a fun feature where when you dial it is a feather quill writing the numbers. also I wanted to included the biggest con of this phone. and that is the calendar function, I use the calendar alot and the calendar on this phone is pretty useless you cannot put an end date to repeat events, you cant have it be every other week, the Lg V calendar far and away better. It does have a week at a glance but big deal since alot of calendar functionality for putting in events is missing. however i have not been able to get a data cable so maybe it will be better with the pc sync function. also another big con is no ringtones you cant even buy any yet it comes with like 10 standard y...

One ugly phone

Saw this phone in Circuit City yesterday, and the gold color (let's face it, it's 1970's-era pimp gold, not champagne) will keep pretty much any guy, and a lot of girls, from buying it, no matter how cool the dual flip is. Until it comes out in a color other than something Huggy Bear would carry, you'll be seeing it primarily at Girlmania and Color Me Mine. And I agree with other posters who said the feature and specs set left a little to be desired. It's a great design, with already-outdated technology packed into it, in a color only My Little Pony would like. When it comes out in black, silver, gray, or nearly any color than metallic gold, I think it might do well.

ringtones

When i go into the get it now/get ringtones/get new app. section it says "no items found." The tech rep at Verizon said to exchange the phone...i did. The other phone says the same thing. Anyone else experiencing this?

The phone build

So I handled one of these bad boys in the store yesterday and I am dissappointed. It's not only ridiculously light but the dual hinge seems destined for disaster. I'll pass on this thing. Talk about confusing with the buttons too, could drive a man crazy.

verizon user: Samsung SCH-U740 or Pantech PN-820?

i'm a verizon user and only have a regular old camera phone (samsung sch-a670) b/c i've been holding out for a smaller smartphone from verizon. i wish they would carry more pda/smartphones like cingular or t-mobile that have gsm capabilities (and better looking ones like blackjack and other streamline phones!). the q, treo, etc are too big for small purses and pockets. i'm not a huge fan of flip phones, but now i've adjusted. so i was super excited about the release of the pantech pn-820. but its looks don't thrill me. then the samsung sch-u740 caught my eye. but it's not a smartphone. my company has windows small business server and synching a smartphone to it would be a cinch. but is the samsung's wireless sync enough for me? i h...

To wait or not to wait?

Wish I knew when the Maxx and Shine (VX8700) http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/02/09/lgs- shine-like-vx8700-for-verizon/ were coming out. I realize they are different phones with different purposes, but I just want a good "phone" for making calls that has a little kick to it. The U740 has the keyboard, the Maxx has the 2.0 camera and looks cool, and the 8700 is thin and just plain looks sweet.
