Are there any loopholes to upgrade my current cell phone? I am no where near the end of my contract. In fact, I am just a few months in. But i really WANT the new moto q 9c. I have full insurance. Can anything be done?

I bought the Pearl the day it came out knowing it didn't have MMS but working for an agent I trusted Alltel when they said they'd release a patch soon to fix the no MMS issue.

I'm in the middle of my two-year contract with Alltel, and I want to pick up a new V9m for considerably less than $500 bucks. My V3m got a little wet a while back, but it still works just fine. I have a feeling it'll short out on me when I least expect it. I checked with Alltel direct here in Charlottesville yesterday, and they are replacing the V3m for insurance claims with V3a's...yuck!

When Verizon takes over, if history is a factor when Alltel bought out Cellular One (the CDMA company, not he GSM), people could upgrade in the middle of the contract if they wanted to do so. As nice as the My Circle is, for my purposes, it ain't that big a deal, and most of my friends have Verizon anyhow.

Ok guys... I have been here (at Phonescoop) a long time. I have been in the wireless business for damn near 10 years.... and have decided to start a little website with some info that isn't normally covered anywhere at the moment.

I am going to use my knowledge and research skills to find you the best deals on cell phones out there. These "deals" will be updated weekly. I will be covering Tmo, Att, and Sprint. We don't have Verizon where I live so no VZW stuff at the moment. Alltel now added!

It'll probably be about a week before the site goes live....

I also intend to have some reviews of mobile programs, how to's (like getting out of contracts), and other misc stuff.

I am due for an upgrade but am not sure what to get. I am looking for a bluetooth phone that has MP3 capabilities. I don't think I'm quite ready for the smartphones yet, but am not completely set against them. I do a fair amount of texting and spend many hours on the phone. I also live in, and visit, many low reception areas. I think my biggest concern at the moment is reception. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

My family is going to be switching to Alltel because we cannot get decent reception in our area with AT&T. After researching phones on Phone Scoop, I've narrowed it down to these four. Because we live in a very rural area in north central Missouri, having a phone that gets good reception is very important.

My husband wants a phone that he can use to make and receive calls; the simpler, the better. My teenage daughter prefers flip phones, and wants one that has all the bells & whistles. She loves taking pictures and does a lot of texting. I want a phone that has good call quality and a camera. If it has more goodies, that's fine. But basically I want to use it for making calls.

I am looking to sign up with a cell phone provider and must choose between alltel and verizon. what is your opinion as to which carriers and phones?
i am willing to spend up to 60 bucks on a phone.

ok so I put in my memory card to my glimmer but when i try to access the ringtones it says there is nothing there.

I have a Candid 16KX on the AlltelU pay per minute plan. Everything works fine on Alltel towers, but when on roam, the phone won't ring when called. The caller hears 2 rings then is immediately directed to voicemail. If the caller leaves a voicemail, the phone beeps within a few seconds indicating the new voicemail, but just won't ring when called when it's roaming. Any ideas? Calling tech support has been fruitless so far. I've gone through the update PRL list about a zillion times since that is all the tech people seem to know.

I found out that Alltel Myshot does not have the AWS freq. That wierd. But, I guessing that Alltel like the features but not AWS. What do you think?

Ok can someone help me with my ringer volume I cnat figure out how to turn it up and nxt to the battery icon at the top there is a icon with a slash through it I am not able to locate what this is
Oh yea one other question is ther a way to change how long the display stays on it seems to shut the screen off prety fast and then you have to hold down a buton to get it to come back on I like this phone but unlike others I an having a time at figuring out the features.

Ok Alltel guys it's not like we didn't know this wasn't going to happen. We just hoped it wouldn't be our #1 competitor. We spent so much of our time making VZW look bad, at we got very good at it. Granted it was pretty easy in most markets.

When we were purchased by the two investment firms last year their intentions were to sell us off and make a pretty Pennie, well they are going to do just that. 5.9 billion to be exact. Not bad for one years worth of work.

The only thing that has remained consistent in the cell industry is that Sprint losses money and things are always changing. There are still places that don't have cell coverage and to stay competitive with fewer companies maybe a buyout of this magnitude may finally completely...
