hello i agree with silva. i was told the same thing. i never wanted a phone that could not do MMS. but i was issued they would have it in the month, this was 7 months or more, ago. now that i have want over my 14 days it is mine like it or not. well at least they got a sale. SEE we would not need so many anger classes, if you could get someone to tell the flippin truth, or at least let you go head and get a phone that does what you want it to do.
there how is that for anger. 😁

I was told by employees that Alltel told them it should be out that soon. So that person wasn't lying to you. Alltel is just holding it up here for some reason.

It isn't Alltel nor the sales agents fault. Blackberry is the one that has to create the fix, not Alltel. As for the sales agent, they might of been saying what they have heard. A lot of times agents are told something the same time a customer is told. The agent might also be going by what is heard of the Internet.

It is a risk one takes when they buy something. Like the iphone and all the people that got upset about the drop in price. Wake up, things drop in price. I guess when the PS3 drops in price, I should complain that it got cheaper after I bought it.

The sales agent doesn't force you to buy a phone, they give you options. In the end it is still the customers decision what phone they want to get. So one could have gotte...

Could you please define 'soon'. is that 7 months, 12 months, three weeks. The problem is that they should not have sold the phone when they knew it was not capable of doing what was wanted by the customers. On the other hand i should have never bought it on a "soon" statement

As an Alltel employee the Pearl has been a great phone with a few minor flas. With the launch of the Blackberry Curve and the MMS working - One would believe that the Pearl's MMS would be working soon. From what I have been told the MMS function on the Pearl has been fixed but Alltel is still working with RIM to launch a new Pearl that has more sufficient memmory. With the memmory leak the Pearl is experiencing now MMS would destroy the phone's memmory. The latest I saw is Friday the Pearl goes to $79.99 after $100.00 rebate - The Pearl is a great phone however please realize its just as upsetting for us as employees as it is for our customers. It shouldn't be much longer and if it is such an issue I would suggest taking it back to the retai...

It does not matter you still bought the phone. So quit whining you knew it did not have MMS, you should have waited or you should have bought a different phone.

hey cparistheman do you work for alltel? you must because that is the same stupid reply i would get from them. they could at least be honest. yes i got the phone anyway. it is a good phone and would be a great phone with MMS. Thought they knew what they were talking about. i will not make that mistake again, but they got there commission. So do me a favor! crawl back up into your MAN-CAVE with CHAD. people like you are why they are still no. 4 😉

HAHA no Alltel isnt even in my market. I am just saying I work for a cell phone company, and I think customers who buy something knowing it doesnt have an abillity to do something they have no right to complain about it.

I hate to say it, but don't trust anyone who is on commission. Even the nicest reps occasionally have stats dip on them and they need to recover and will feel pressured to say something they can't back up.

Always try to get things verified in writing when at all possible, and talk to a higher-up about anything you're not completely sure they are being truthful about.

There is a workaround to have something like MMS on a Pearl. You send an email to:

Sprint - phonenumber@pm.sprint.com

Verizon - phonenumber@vzwpix.com

T-Mobile - phonenumber@tmomail.net

Alltel - phonenumber@message.alltel.net

AT&T - phonenumber@mms.att.net

US Cellular - phonenumber@mms.uscc.net

Choose which address you send to to match the recipient's carrier and make sure you replace “phonenumber” with your recipient’s actual cell phone number. The message will go to their phone as a regular MMS!

This doesn't work on Alltel. I had a friend send a picture as email to my number @ message.alltel.net and it showed up as a bunch of stuff with no picture.. 🤨

Unless you were specifically given a time line, or told that the phone already did MMS, I don't see how it is Alltel's fault that you purchased a phone for a future-dated feature. "Soon" or "In the near future" are both relative terms. My sympathies for having a phone without MMS.

We aren't idiots people! When an Alltel rep says it will be a few weeks...we can be patient! I bought the pearl assuming it had mms cause that is how RIM and my retail store advertised it before it came out and a few days after probably by mistake in my store! I can understand the frustration!

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but I didn't feel like going thru every reply...
For one.....YOU HAVE THE BLACKBERRY it receives email right? Set up the email and have the person send them to your email. Such as username@gmail.com or whatever email you use. I do that often with pictures I take with my 'dumb' phone. That is one way to get it.
Second, they have not sent out a patch for the memory leak on this lovely piece of equipment. Until then they will not get picture messaging on it.

lolz, thats what you get for buying the pearl, you're lucky that wasnt the only thing it was doing. It also likes to reset contacts/sms messages when memory gets low. 😲
