coverage

Is AT&T worth switching to. I currently live in the Metro Detroit area. My service is with Verizon Wireless. Verizon has pretty decent coverage in my area, but I'm not impressed with their selection of phones. I was interested in purchasing the V600 from AT&T (that's a whole story in itself) and I was wondering how good GSM coverage is in my area. If there's anyone out there that has any info, please let me know. Thanks.

Cingular or ATTWS for Atlanta?

I'm about to make the switch from Sprint PCS. I happy with Sprint's service, but their phones just don't get me excited. I'm now considering Cingular and AT&T Wireless. I'm really interested in the Nokia 6820 (if you have any thoughts on this phone, please share). It sounds like AT&T Wireless is going to offer it soon. This makes me lean towards them. However, I've heard so many bad things about this company. Should I just bite the bullet and choose a phone from Cingular? Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I'm looking for a fairly priced phone that has at least Bluetooth as one of it's features. My wife has the Sony Ericsson T610 from T-Mobile. I really like this phone. However, the Nokia 6820 has EDGE...

An open letter to the new Cingulatt - look to the future

US carriers wasted 18 months fighting essential technologies such as E911 and number portability, claiming they were "too difficult and costly" to implement. Yet somehow, every one of them in that same time frame managed to empower anyone to instantly send a picture of their dog soiling the neighbors garden to their distant relatives. Still today, they continue to struggle to successfully implement basic, fundamental technologies like E911 and portability, and fight with coverage and signal quality issues.

Meanwhile, their European counterparts are looking toward the future:

ATTWS or Cingular in Monmouth County NJ

I want to switch my wife's cell service over from VzW to either ATTWS or Cingular. Since the 2 companies are becoming one I'm wondering where would I be getting the best deal now for switching. In Monmouth Co. ATTWS service has always been lacking, they don't have enough cell towers and much of their service is shared over Cingular's lines. Cingular service on the other hand is much better, because Cingular limits the amount of bandwidth AT&T can have.

So considering they'll soon be one, would I get a better deal converting to ATTWS or Cingular? We're talking a $35-40 plan.

Got a new Store, want to become a ATT Dealer

Ok, I am currently selling some prepaid phones by a local company named EZLINK Plus, they offer unlimited nights and weekends, but only 50 Mins for Weekday with $20 card.

Anyways I was wondering how to approach on becoming a ATT Dealer, They have the GO Phone and those are good sellers, specially with all those minutes,

I called up the distrubutor hotline and than customer service, they all transferred me to GO Phone Hotline, than I just kept getting transferred, than one guy told me to go to attws.com/dealer and apply to become a dealer, and its been about 5 Days and no response, is there a number I could call or what?

My Store is located in Kansas City, KS, We sell Cell Phone Accessories also.

I Think I might have to become a ...

Is Tmobile really that bad? So far I have had zero good reports on Tmobile and there coverage. I get people porting in from Tmobile often enough that its provoked me to ask. I have never had any friends or family with Tmobile. Not trying to be a smart A$$ either.

a little late back into the game

i just saw on attws.com's website that they have the se t62u w/mulitband plan back. i'm not sure how long it's been back on but it can't be that long ago.

i think it's great in a way but a little too late now too on bringing it back (i know they didn't get of it but was practically hiding it from the gen. public until now).

Countdown to Shutdown

Well Cingular is victorious. Ok now it's time to look ahead to what the future will bring. You know one thing this buyout has done? It has caused the end to the At&t Wireless forum here on phonescoop. Yeah this forum that alot of people love....to hate. So now my fellow At&t companions we must now get used to posting in the Cingular Wireless forum so people can come over there to spread love....and hate. If you think Verizon hated the 22 million of us before they are going to hate the 46 million of us now!!!!! 🤣 So let the countdown to shutdown begin.... 😉

‘They don’t need the AT&T Wireless employees at all. '

ATLANTA - Cingular Wireless won the bidding war to acquire AT&T Wireless Services for nearly $41 billion in cash, a deal that would create the nation’s largest cell phone company.

The merger between the second and third largest U.S. wireless companies was announced Tuesday as Britain’s Vodafone Group PLC withdrew from the contest after four days of rising bids.

Combined, Cingular and AT&T Wireless will have 46 million subscribers, enough to leapfrog Verizon Wireless’ market leading customer base of 37.5 million.

AT&T Wireless chief executive John Zeglis will not remain with the combined company once a deal is approved, he told reporters Tuesday in a conference call. Cingular CEO Stan Sigman will be chief of the company, Zeglis said....

Question about contracts???

I am going to set up a scenario and see what people think the policy will be, I am asking because I have no idea how this will be handled.

Scenario:

A customer had Cingular service and decided to port to ATTW because he was unhappy with Cinguar. Now what happens to this person that they are back with Cingular, the company that they thought they were getting away from??? Are they offered the option to break their contract without penalty since they sign a contract with ATTW not Cingular??? I am looking for some response here, because I am not sure what the legal implications are here.

I would think that any customers of ATTW who do not want to be Cingular customers would have to be let out of their contract since they singed a...
