I must say that the EVO, form early reviews of I/O attendees, has few bugs and carrying around a BB for a whole year seems like a cruel and unusual way to punish yourself. 4.3 inch screen to play and browse with 3g is really good and you can hook into any of the numerous wifi hotspots. 4g isn't really for walking around and keeping on, it's too much of a battery hog for that. you're kidding right? what other company let's you buy a phone and then 1 year later get a full rebate on it? (without groveling, threatening, hostage taking or swearing?) I Love premier if only because I can get my EVO on day one.

There's really no such thing as an unlocked verizon device. Having said that, getting vanilla android as opposed to the Sense UI will make the updates quicker. Droid is getting 2.1 today after being out 3-4 months and hero is getting 2.1 in april (possibly) after being out since october? so 6-7 months? 3 month lag isn't that bad as long as updates actually arrive. for a flagship device like the EVO I am betting they will. It's still being tested and only in 4g areas. So voice calls go over 1x or 3g and data over 4g.

Can anyone confirm that the EVO will go on presale 4/16/10? If that's the presale date the actual release can't be too far away from that. :-)...

I think aside form all the other major benefits of the EVO the Sense UI is really a compelling feature. Android 2.1 is improving but it's still pretty spartan. Sense adds ton of usibility. of course there's also the 4.3" screen and 4G and HDMI out and HD Vid recoding and a kickstand and more ROM.

I appreciate what you are saying and mostly agree but dual core 2Ghz processors just don't exist for smartphones :)

Whatever you do don't get a curve instead of a Pixi. the Tour is a much better phone or just keep the pixi. I would keep the pixi over either of them though

I would have preferred this phone with winmo but I think it's much better for Sprint that it is coming with Android :) and that 4.3 inch screen really makes me :-)...

From what I've heard the more recently built models are better as far as the wiggle is concerned. Mine is also from the week of launch.

I think the Palm Pre is the best phone on sprint :) As far as smartphones go. Amazing web browsing great multitasking. constant substantive updates (just added 3D gaming!) and the fastest overall hardware.

That's what I am looking for but the current version doesn't provide evdo data coverage it only supports 1x. I want the new version with evdo support :)

Yeah I totally agree about the browser on android. The hero seems to be the phone you want it is a tad laggy according to reviews but you are probably used to that on the storm :)

I personally LOVE winmo but opera mobile isn't as good as the browser on the Pre but the hardware keyboard on the Touch Pro is OUT OF THIS WORLD! that said it is still running last years CPU and chipset so if next gen is your thing the Pre is the way to go. The Pre is also much more streamlined and straightforward.

The Pre has the best internet experience i've ever had. I haven't tried the Hero but the Pre has a higher performing cpu.

They all have full HTML browsers the pre has a fantastic browsers and call quality is great too.
