a pardigm shift. a few years ago every phone was free with upgrade or new activation, but now we have miniature computers in our pockets capable of amazing things, but people stil call in for a free upgrade.

Glad to hear it! Keep in mind different carriers have different service in different places. I've had 5 bars where Verizon has one and vice/versa. Hopefully we will make a your stay with AT&T lifelong by providing excellent service.

plus you look bad putting down another company and the whole "pay your bill on time." Every customer deserves good customer service, even if they've had some hard times.

And yeah you think that one guy in the store had an attitude good luck with AT&T. Just about every single one of their employees have attitudes.
Brother we are trying our best, and yes sometimes our agent can be jerks. I work for at&t and have had bad experience with them and I've had good. I always try my best but some customers are unhappy regardless. NO company is perfect.

Actually
AT&T will recognize it as a smartphone (even if you don't alert us of the different IMEI) and a data plan will be automatically provisioned AND since it's an unlocked phone you likely will not be able to access internet.
Then
you don't really need a smartphone. You just want to llok cool with your iphone/blackberry/droid.
