This is my take: I want a phone that can wash my car, do my dishes, clean the garage, take the kids everywhere, pay my bills, surf the web, play my music (all simultaneously), and just be the coolest thing EVER, and I want it for a PENNY because, hey, I WILL sign a FIVE year contract so I get that price. Hell, I'll even buy it at a USED CAR DEALER with no knowledge of phones if it is cheaper...and I don't care if I have to sign THREE more contracts with them, because man, it was a DEAL....and then, in TWO WEEKS when a better, newer, faster, phone appears that I simply must have, I will Google the problems with this piece of $hit, because amazingly mine is doing the same crap out of NOWHERE and I will repeatedly take my phone back to the carr...

Really all the Thunderbolt is an Evo with LTE instead of WiMax, right? And wasn't the Evo $199 @ launch?

Exactly why would somebody pay 300.00 for the thunderbolt if they can get the Evo or Epic for much cheaper. The thunderbolt doesn't even have a full keyboard. Embarassed What happen to 250.00?

Probably because Verizon doesn't have the Evo or the Epic. Knowing Verizon they will most likely have a sale on the phone like a BOGO or something when it first comes out or the price drops. But yes 300 is a bit much for a phone.

Not really. It's more like the Evo2

-Second gen processor (same clock speed, but better at battery and better at multitasking, by a wide margin)

-Improved Camera, design, etc.

-Improved Screen technology (new LCD screen meant to give brighter colors and crisper text)

The Evo was the first gen of this tech, the Thunderbolt (and similar phones) are the second gen.

I'm not trying to defend the pricing, whatever it is. But the "It's just an Evo" argument is a misleading one.

Even if it were just an EVO, the EVO is something that Verizon doesn't have and that I coveted for months when it was the Supersonic. It would still be a big deal.

It is such a sweet phone. My sister is due for an upgrade and it's only going to cost her $150 for the phone, so she is gonna get it. I am trying to get her to give me that phone for my Droid X. I don't thin...

Every time I call Verizon they see that my primary line is eligible for an annual and start asking me how I like my phone (VX8300)

Me: "It's the GREATEST phone LG ever made for Verizon! I have it AND an 8100. I will NEVER have to upgrade this line!"

Rep: "Uh, well if you want to use that upgrade on one of your other lines we have alternate upgrade policy."

I decline, of course. I suppose if my mom kills her phone I will have no choice but to go that route or give her my 8100 or the A870.

Do you even know what the specs are of the Thunderbolt?

8mp camera
720p HD video recording
4.3in screen with a kickstand on the back!
8GB's of internal memory + memory card slot up to 32GB's
LTE data speeds.

This thing is a beast of a smartphone! Your probably some old person who doesn't understand or appreciate technology, huh?

The kickstand is cool, but im wondering if it will effect sound quality when closed, as the speaker is under the stand.
