Youtube is a Google owned service. Therefore, it is a Google service. You want Youtube app get an Android or iPhone. If not open the browser and type Youtube.com. Done.
Eh...I think microsoft has given google enough time to develop their own app. They didn't, so microsoft did. In fact microsoft has asked google on several instances for the API to go ahead and create the youtube app themselves. Google refuses to give it to them. ...
Re: If Google made a YouTube app for W8...
apple doesn't compete with google on search though. Microsoft does.

I remember talking to people who were loyal to the car brand Pontiac, even though they had sub-par quality and bad prices, and sub-par styling. It doesnt matter how good or bad it is, it matters who likes it, and lots of people do.
Dude...the GTO, Firebird, Trans AM, and the Solstice were awesome.

We broke it apart 30 years ago. Then, it just reassembled itself. This time, we need to nationalize it so that AT&T and its ilk can just go away.
AJ
great idea. that way local co-ops can provide half the services at twice the price.

Tough. C-Spire bought Corr Wireless just to hold it and ransom it to the highest bidder. No way this should be allowed. If they weren't going to use those assets they vnever should have been allowed to purchase it.
Maybe so, but Corr wasn't using it either.

The chunk of PCS is a large one, and AT&T doesnt really need it in that area.
False.
AT&T needs it pretty badly in the huntsville, al area.

how does it hurt the consumer?
Re: Excellent phone
woah for real? I just got a 920 and I've got netflix loaded on it.
to be fair.....
Google refuses to let microsoft make a youtube app for their phones.
They were okay with Apple having an app, but microsoft was forced to make an app that redirects you to the mobile verison of youtube.com
Mainly because of Bing.
That's one case of something falling under the antitrust laws, but google is a big company.
I'd much rather see that problem corrected than have google broken up.
Re: No worries.
They might be planning on using it for microwave backhaul or something.
Because youre right. I don't think any phones out there support LTE in that range.
Re: What would be a shock to all?
I honestly doubt that would happen.
Verizon has more of an incentive to roll LTE out everywhere as fast as possible. (simply due to the fact that their 3G network is pretty awful).
AT&T has HSPA+ in a lot of places, and while we can argue endlessly on if it's 4G or not, it's a whoooooole lot faster than Verizon's fall back.
Soooo I don't see AT&T aggressively going after LTE beyond major cities, like Verizon needs ...
Re: Good guys???
they always all do things like this, they just don't advertise it.
One carrier will come out and say it, then the others will to.
It's silly.

Re: Concept Vs. Exact Ingredients
From what I read it wasn't a statement from Samsung that "oh apple's doing it so lets copy them", but "how is our product different than Apple's?"
then some engineer noted that they should do "these changes" based off their findings.
Besides....the icons you're saying that Samsung copied look nothing like Apple's icons.
Just my humble opinion
I think the verdict in the trial is bad for several reasons. Mostly because this gives Apple justification to continue these lawsuits. We needed a verdict that honestly flat out denied both parties any claims to money. Basically we needed to shut Apple up.
That didn't happen.
Back in 2007, Apple did the tech world a solid and released an amazing device, but it was a device far from original. They basically took the time to ...
Re: Fire Stephen Elop -- Epic Failure of a CEO
guess he thought it's better to avoid android and then not have to worry about apple smacking them down with stupid lawsuits like samsung and htc are having to deal with.
Re: Ludicrous
No they dont.
They care about staying in business and making a profit, thus the point of being in business.
Sometimes what you want is also something the business is offering to help take your money from you, but trust me, it's not because they care about your personal feelings.

Verizon and AT&T CAN offer Unlimited Data...it's just more profitable not to do so. I don't blame them for changing but I do find it disingenuous to act as though they are spectrum starved. Tell me in one breath that most customers don't even use 2GB but in the next act as though ALL of your customers are blowing the doors off with their data usage. Nope. That dog won't hunt.
I don't recall them ...
Re: Well, this won't save me any money-Of course not!
might help those family plans where they've got more than 5 lines on there as well, as currently they had to subscribe to more than one family plan, texting plan ontop of any data they might have to use.
Re: What a rip off plan though..
they wont.
not currently anyway.
plus if you get an LTE phone, they start throttling you at 5gb of useage instead of 3gb.
Re: So nothing is doubled to more nothing. . .
If people like yourself would have limited your data consumption to begin with, we wouldn't be in this unlimitless nightmare we're in now.
Thanks buddy.
Re: Who is right here?
I think he was also coming from the point of "There is only so much spectrum to use, and the more players there are the more we've gotta share, thus the less overall bandwidth we'll have."
I understand what they meant by it. And he's not wrong, it is TRUE, but....
they don't HAVE to raise their pricing.
They could just always switch everyone off 1g, 2g, 3g, and switch the entire network to LTE and migrate everyone over ...

Android software updates are suppose to be OTA. 700mhz LTE is PLENTY capable of handling the 150mb or whatever the file size is. I am so glad I left ATT 2yrs ago.
me too...now if we could just get you to stop talking about it.
Re: watch tmobile raise prices!
That's pretty bold to assume you're the voice of every american.
It's too high for what you might consider. I personally find AT&T to be the best for my money. (Granted the day that changes is the day I switch)
(Double side note: I'm not really going after what you are saying, just more the mindset of what I see on this board more and more of "I want it all and I want it for practically nothing.")
Re: watch tmobile raise prices!
So that would imply that you would have been okay with the AT&T/Tmo merger even if it meant higher prices, because both AT&T and Tmo have been increasing their 3g network speeds for well over 2 years.
Re: Don't Know Who ATT Thinks They're Fooling
Good thing your vote doesn't matter.
Re: So you lied?
except your whole arguement is that AT&T lied about their capacity because they're adding markets to their LTE network.
AT&T stated that they would not be able to deploy LTE in rural markets without Tmo's help.
I wouldn't consider any of those markets rural.
Re: AT&T Wins Again
Not to play devils advocate here, but it's not illegal to be a monopoly. It's illegal to use your powers as a monopoly to stiffle competitors.
ie. anti-trust

What do you expect them to say if AT&T had an exclusive lock on the iphone?

Just like saying that AT&T has enough spectrum to deploy 4g.
;)
(not trolling just pointing out these CEOs will say anything to give their company an edge.)
Re: LTE
use it to run your home internet you mean....
Re: I sense desperation.
the 4th major wireless provider will be "destroyed" if at&t buys them or not. AT&T is simply saying 5,000 more jobs here and they're keeping as much of tmo's customer service centers as possible.
Re: What a deal!
with that same line of thought, we should have been demanding soverign rights to montanta, when we had car phones.
Re: What a deal!
just because they have a different viewpoint doesn't mean anything other than they have a different viewpoint than you.
It's just as fair for them to say you're one of those consumers who feel like they're entitled to the world.
This may sound like I'm defending AT&T's position.....
It's not so much at&t position that I'm defending, but moreso businesses in general. If a company invests billions of dollars on infrastructure, I think they get some rights in protecting their investment.
I think it's a fair statement to say that most of the U.S. smartphone users don't use their phones the way that members of phonescoop use their phones.
I'd also say it's fair that most members here because we are tech enthusists, push our phones to the ...

why are you so quick to judge others who have an different viewpoint as yourself.
I for one...hope this is a huge success for them.
I hope it works out so well, that they move all their plans to throttling instead of billing.
Re: Even throttled.....
really?
like...most of the US. Verizon's 3g barely qualifies as edge in most of the country. The only places they compete in terms of speed is where verizon has 4g.
My infuse, I consistantly get around 5mb/s while on 3g.
My sister on the other hand who has the thunderbolt was having trouble hitting the 1mb/s mark on 3g.
endgadget's carrier review recently said the same.
Even throttled.....
bet my connection will still be faster than the other providers here 8)
