The current debt load includes all reported financial statements (i.e. up through Q404). But on the Q4 conf call, executives stated the purchase of Western Wireless will not affect their current "A" rating from analysts, so it's evidently not going to change their debt load too much.

Debt load? ALLTEL is financially one of the best companies in the industry, if not the best. There are multiple reasons why a marriage between AT and VZW might not be right, and I think roaming is probably one of the better ones. But debt certainly isn't: ALLTEL's debt to equity ratio is only 0.782 (compared to VZW 1.045).

I doubt ALLTEL will be having a major acquisition like USCC so soon after the WW merger. I also doubt VZW will be looking to buy ALLTEL in the near future, especially with the WW news, it'd cost them too much and they've already got a boatload of debt. Sorry speedy but I think your sources are wrong.

I have a friend who is trying to use her USCC LG VX4400 phone on VZW. She tried unlocking using all zeros and that didn't work. Anyone know if there is another unlock code?

I would lean more toward the tri-mode handset requirement than anything else.

http://rcrnews.com/cgi-bin/news.pl?newsId=188 03 Ratings agency predicts wireless acquisitions for Alltel by Dan Meyer July 12, 2004 1:20 PM EST In affirming its current senior unsecured and short-term debt ratings for Alltel Corp. with a stable rating outlook, Fitch Ratings said it believes the telecommunications provider could become active in acquiring smaller regional wireless operators in an attempt to broaden its rural wireless focus instead of pursuing clear spectrum acquisitions. “Fitch believes Alltel will likely focus on pursuing additional wireless acquisitions in Tier 2 and Tier ...

"Unavailable" calls do not have any originating telephone number associated with them. It is stripped off either because the call traveled over MF trunking or was placed behind PBX or Predictive Dialer equipment (for example, telemarketers). Only calls placed that appear "Blocked" or "Private" have an originating telephone number associated with them. The number is suppressed from appearing on the terminating Caller ID but can be obtained in cases of harrassment or emergency. Verizon is right, there ...

Verizon is correct. There is no originating telephone number that is associated with a call that appears as "Unknown" or "Unavailable". Those that appear as "Blocked" or "Private" do have a telephone number associated, they are just suppressed from the end user's Caller ID display (they can be obtained in cases of harrassment or police emergency, though).
