I am a former long time employee of USCC and feel bad for the changes the reps are having to deal with but I can't say I'm surprised. The DO always was a tool used to control employees, but now it's use is just much more blatant and obvious. The funny thing is that if the reason for these changes are sales related the obvious solution would be to get a more robust selection of phones for ...

I'm looking for some feedback into what the aims of the Belief Project really are?? Is it to add new subscribers, keep what you already have, cut commissions or something else?? This thread is not created as a "flame point" but rather as an intelligent discussion. Let me know your thoughts.

USCC is having problems gaining new customers as noted in their recent quarterly reports, hence the need to "fleece" their existing cutomers for more money. This is just the next evolution in the DO that USCC preaches as gospel. First they get the employees drinking the kool aid, now they're trying to get the customers doing the same.

The only value for subscribers of USCC is leaving once the contract is completed. What is the value in early upgrades to telephones that the other carriers have discontinued 6 months ago?

The DO is simply a method of control. Leaders hide behind it and associates lap it up or fear it. Can some explain to me where the term "undynamic" came from??

Anybody have any information on when the Microcell will be available for sale in Wisconsin?? Heard that the nationwide rollout begins this month but haven't been able to get any specific information for my area. Can anyone help??

I may be interested in Verizon service, however I currently live in a non Verizon market. This market is served by Alltel though. Is it possible to sign up for Verizon service now or do I need to wait until the merger officially goes through?? Thanks in advance for the help!

Is this customer eligible in September 08 or 09?? Are you not EMPOWERED to make a decision that benefits both the customer and the company?? If this customer is eligible to renew in September 08 I don't see what the issue is?? Either customer service will decide what to do or you will. That is why you are the store manager. You are correct. Individual stores do not win anything but individual leaders can if their culture survey score is above 3.95.

"Believe in something better". What a joke....What is better about USCC?? They sell older model phones, have a network which in most cases won't support high speed data and advanced network features and have a corporate mentality that they are better than everyone else. If it was still 1990 they may have a case as their call quality in network is excellent, but call quality is not the only things carriers hang their hats on these ...

Central region is the same way. I worked in 2 of the 3 states comprising the region and have first hand knowledge. Incompetent cheeleaders get promoted while those possessing initiative are fired or forced to leave. It's really sad but true.

US Cellular is like many other large companies. They say one thing and do the opposite. If you are not in the "right" clique within the company you are either buried or forced out. The DO is either a tool or a weapon depending on who you are and who you know.

Funny thing is that most of what they now do well is not enough to ensure their survival in the future. The company and their customers would be better served buy being bought out.

I would bet that BB BIS users will be able to enjoy the same rates as Windows Mobile users (i.e 24.95/month with voice plan). BES users will probably still pay more. The way the rates are set up now(39.95 for BB users, 24.95 for WIM) just don't make sense......unless you are trying to push WIM

The only ways USCC gets EVDO or LTE are: 1. Jack retires and totally leaves US Cellular. 2. USCC sells out or is bought.

No one's gonna get fired here. From what I read from the original poster the only "Proprietary Information" devulged is the "Project Mythos" name itself which has been floating around for years. USCC is a small company which has a good voice network in the "local" markets it serves and provides good customer service. What the company lacks now and has lacked for years is a focus on DATA. DATA, not voice is the future ...

It works both ways. I work in a store and at times work with customers that have had poor experiences from customer care and come into the store to resolve. In order to make our company successful for our CUSTOMERS and shareholders all facets of the organization must work TOGETHER rather than blame each other. Gotta love US Cellular. The reason the company says it takes them so long to get new phones is their extensive testing process. Guess that is working real well for them......I feel bad for their customers who are having problems with the phone though.

Maybe Verizon buys out TDS lock stock and barrel........As for US Cellular expanding not sure where you're getting your info from. Jack says no new markets in 2008. US Cellular has not expanded in a couple of years after getting beat up by the big boys in St. Louis.

I am speaking in hypotheticals....but it seems that if a manager came in and began holding people accountable for their performance if the group decided to hold back their feedback until the culture survey said manager could be labeled...perhaps unfairly. My understanding of culture surveys is that they are used to gauge companies. Performance reviews are used to gauge individuals. Is that not true at US Cellular?

I agree with most of your points, however my question still remains.....who decides what the truth is?? Is it not possible that a group of employees who perhaps do not like their boss for whatever reasons could respond to a survey in a collusive manner in order to get someone fired?? If this is the case how is this fair to anyone??

Why should "the store" get to collaboratively decide the fate of any employee?? As you stated "if the store as a whole fills out the survey honestly"......who decides what the truth is??

Yeah it is hard to get fired which probably explains while you still work there.....I left on my own volition. Instead of worrying about me maybe you should worry about yourself and your obvious inability to utilize proper grammar. People can be accused of being "undynamic" which is liked being marked for termination.
