Hey all,

I have heard rumors of upcoming changes to not only the normal calling plans, but also to blackberry plans. Does anyone have any info? From what has been tossed around, there will be changes Friday with release of the Curve.

In situations like this I have heard where customers are able to make changes to their plan or even their phone (mid-contract) since the original contract is being changed. Any truth to this?

You can change/add/remove features or plan mid contract. There is not any contract extensions for doing that. Phones can only be done so often. As far as BBerry changes.. you'll have to wait and see. 😁

To be a bit more specific, you can always change phones by paying the full retail price of the phone. You are eligible to sign a new 2 year contract to receive the contract pricing on a phone once 18 months of the 24 month contract have gone by and, even better, there is no charge to you (other than the phone) for changing equipment.
You can always change plans, but will not ever be required to do so if you like your current plan better than the newer ones.
The new things coming are going to be great, and I'm sure everyone shares my excitement about telling you all about them on Friday. 😁

I would bet that BB BIS users will be able to enjoy the same rates as Windows Mobile users (i.e 24.95/month with voice plan). BES users will probably still pay more. The way the rates are set up now(39.95 for BB users, 24.95 for WIM) just don't make sense......unless you are trying to push WIM

the reason the rates are higher is because RIM charges (rather takes a cut) of all monthly service fees for BB Service. Where as Microsoft does not.
