Why the assertion you should only comment in a USCC forum if you are a current customer/employee?

Now granted, I do not believe someone should be a troll and just bash a company for the sake of bashing them. However, what if a person is an ex-employee or ex-customer, or has worked for various wireless carriers, or is just interested in the industry in general? Why cant s/he post in a USCC forum if not a current customer/employee? I'm sure the T&C of phonescoop doesnt prohibit that.

It seems like when the comments are positive, like "USCC has awesome coverage/the best customer service/ are a good company", no one cares if a person is a current customer/employee. But if it is negative, it is a problem. USCC has invoked some negative comments due to the overhype of their Belief plans and arrogance of some associates (not all of cours...

Yes, your are quite right. Everyone has the right to post. But however when the post holds no merit is where the issue occurs.

Negative criticism is always welcome, but it only holds merit when someone has the knowledge of a first hand experience, it holds no merit when someone blaintely says a negative comment with no knowledge of the issue, comparison, plan, network, sales, etc.

Example, when said person or persons do not have the ability to get the service in their area they post negatively about the company or project not knowing anything about it but what they read on line. This is where the issue lies.

Or when other providers are cheaper...yes prepaid providers are cheaper, and also provide more flaws. In comparison to...

I cant disagree with anything you posted there. Our feelings about those points align with each other. I do have a question about your last statement about switched customers: Is that USCC's goal of switching its own customers to belief plans? That's the way I first took it. Or are you saying that is its goal of gaining new and existing customers to belief plans? Just wondering..

USCC is having problems gaining new customers as noted in their recent quarterly reports, hence the need to "fleece" their existing cutomers for more money. This is just the next evolution in the DO that USCC preaches as gospel. First they get the employees drinking the kool aid, now they're trying to get the customers doing the same.

That's the way I took it too. However, USCC has figured they would gain 1,000,000 brand new customers within the first year of rolling out these plans. That is their main goal is to gain new customers to be more of a player with the big 4. From what I've heard so far, they haven't gained as many as they had hoped. As far as existing customers switching to the new plans, that has gone much better than expected. Like I said, however, the company's real goal is to gain new customers to grow their customer base.

Agreed, that is a goal as well, however with the current holiday season the real "buying" has yet to start, everyone know that with the holidays come the real sales and customers are going to wait until post thanksgiving to do the buying.

With the addition of the Primary Plus plan to compete with Sprint and the current $.01 phone sale on the LG Bliss, Curve 8530, Samsung i225, and the HTC 6175. This should hopefully increase some traffic before the expected holiday sales.

3rd quarter financials show a loss even bigger than last quarter. 25000 post pay customers overall lost this quarter and no gain in pre pay.

I suspect this trend will continue for 4th quarter. US Cellular's plans were never really an issue that needed changing. There lousy phone selection and the fact that those phones were insanely overpriced were there biggest issue. Everyday i see people choose verizon over US Cellular simply because they had a phone they wanted at a better price.

Considering that these companies are insanely overcharging for data and texting you'd think they could subsidize the phone prices a little more.

they lost 25000 but the net loss of revenue was only $400,000 dollars... when you're talking about a quarter that netted almost 1 billion dollars thats chump change. the rise in data sales and believe migrations will more then cover that loss going forward. provided the belief plans can start swaying more new adds over time.

compare that to any other companies numbers. but compare everything look at their operating budgets and total income. you'll see that verizon has a current debt to equity ratio of 146% meaning that right now their debt is 146% higher then their valued assets. this means if they had to liquidate their current assets they could only cover a little more then 60% of their debt. this may not sound like a lot but you're t...

I love when people combat negative facts about US Cellular with negative facts about their competition.

Learn to deal with the truth. US Cellular is not a unique company prepping to take on the bigger competition. Successful? Yes, quite successful. However, it IS a large regional carrier. It's time to come to terms with that.

i'm assuming this post is directed towards my earlier post. at which i never stated in it that people shouldn't be allowed to post but rather wondered why waste their time being so negative about something that doesn't effect them.

i do find it funny that there seems to be a certain group of people on here that go from forum to forum being nothing but cynical and sarcastic rather then being helpful and productive. and you say that it doesn't seem anyone raises a stink when someone says something positive about USCC or any company on these forums for that matter but i challenge you to go back on look at the responses to most of the positive posts. most of the time one of the usual trolls shows up and enlightens us with their wonderful q...

In my original post under this thread, you will first see that I mentioned how I believe someone should not troll a forum. So there is no disagreement there. I am no way supporting trolling or saying it isnt justified to be upset over this.

Also, I was not commenting on the general idea of no one raising a stink on positive comments. I was being very specific in what I was mentioning-I was specifically arguing against the idea that you had to be an employee or a customer to comment on a carrier. What I was trying to say is that it should not matter if you are affiliated with the company or not, and people seem not to care about the lack of affiliation, if there are positive comments instead of negative.

I know that there have been t...

Pdddeople get on other forums all the time to comment and read. I personally don't like USCC but I think it's important to do research and just see what's going on in the industry. You never know what good things may come out of what seems like a nobody in the business. Sometimes they an surprise you.

I work in a loction that sells several carriers, and I used to work for another carrier, so I like to read up and comment on several different forums because I technically work for all of them. It's also about becoming educated on issues. For example, you can't claim that a particular carrier or phone is so amazing when you haven't experienced anything else. I love Blackberry's - they're the best for me and I've have nothing but positive ex...
