Nice but complicated for basic users

Mar 31, 2009 by missy7

Owned this phone for a very short time before i ended up reselling it. It was a good phone, but the operating system was very difficult for me. I thought I would get used to it since I am very proficient with Windows based computers, but Windows Mobile was just too much challenge for me. I'm sure if you learn new systems easily, it's a great phone. My husband is into tech stuff and has really used the features this phone has to offer, but I couldn't grasp it enough to enjoy it. It was just too much work for me. Call quality is adequate, but not the best sounding. The hinge seems a bit weak and the back cover of the phone likes to fall off after a while, but otherwise seems to be a decent phone with a nice screen and many features for those who enjoy them, but I would not recommend this phone for those looking for only the basics. This phone is for the experts... and that's not me. I ended up going back to my Nokia phones- love them. so easy to use!

WAS a great phone.

At first I really loved this phone. I love that it's a smartphone that's also a flip phone, which makes texting easy when you're doing something else. But then it started to restart when I received messages occasionally and I couldn't get those messages anymore. My phone borke and then I used insurance to get a new one and the new one did the same thing. Only now, it restarts often when I touch any button, sometimes it'll just completely turn off for no reason. It's ridiculous. I lose all kinds of messages and numbers when it does this. It's great if you can afford a new phone after 6 months.

Pros:
Predictive Text makes for easy texting while driving
Smartphone
Light weight
Lots of memory

Cons:
Restarts randomly
Loses message
SD card often won't read

Worst Phone Ev-ER

Apr 29, 2008 by sprkyjoey

Pros:
It looks cool. Love the clock on the front screen.

Cons:
When you send a call, it takes about 10 or so seconds for the phone to even start ringing.
Slow Internet service.
Starts "acting up" after a certain amount of time.

Essentially, I went through four of these phones in less than a year. After about 7 months (it did it with two of the phones), the phone would shut itself on and off for no reason, even if it was stationary. AT&T actually removed this phone from its stores.

I don't know why I ever left Samsung. I've gone back to it now with their Slim Phone. Easy. Simple. Reliable.

Great Phone!

Pros
- Great sound quality
- Camcorder feature can record in both AVI and QUICKTIME, easy to edit and or share online
- looks cool, very slick and professional
- Windows Mobile is amazing compared to any other phone interface (better than a blackberry)
- High resolution screen, very clear, easy to see in bright daylight
- Great reception everywhere

Cons
- Weird shape, thin but wide
- Proprietary connector port is impossible to find accesories for
- My battery cover broke after 6 months of use
- Don't crash while snowboarding on a 65 foot jump with this phone in your pocket or the screen will crack (getting a new one in the mail tomorrow)

This phone just couldn't last...

Jan 31, 2008 by DUbblecoMB

I owned this phone for only five months before I had to have it replaced. FIVE MONTHS. My other phone, a nokia 6102, has lasted me three years and it still hasn't lost a step.

When I purchased this phone it was awesome, and it came with everything I needed. I was the coolest guy on the block, taking those Razr-loving losers to town! To finish it off, I hooked my dear, sweet, baby of a phone up with a 2 gig memory card, to make it all come full circle. This phone was so full of features I just couldn't describe my disbelief when it all started falling apart. About three months into my relationship with this phone, I started getting weird glitches. I thought it was common since I was using a windows phone, but it just got ridiculous! My phone would freeze, give me error messages that would pile up to a point where I couldn't access my phone, it wouldn't send my text messages at all unless I kept the phone open and watched it say "message sent". Not only that, but the phone battery made a drastic change and only lasted about a day at a time before the battery was dead. It deleted my music, corrupted my memory card, and to finish it off the back of the phone peeled off so my battery kept falling out. As the problem progressed I eventually had to replace my phone for the same model, which also fell apart. I ended up downgrading to my old phone. End of rant, here's my list.

Pros:
Sleek, good look for a phone
Packed full of awesome features
Comes with full internet capabilities
Good sound quality
Syncs well with computer, easy to access

Cons:
Low battery life
Poor construction
Glitchy
Micro SD slot kept jamming

RIP 3125, I loved you!

The best flip phone available at this time

Oct 5, 2007 by HyperBlue

In my job capacity as a telecommunications analyst for a Fortune 50 company I've reviewed/recommended hundreds of mobile devices over the last 10 years. In my estimation, at this time the 3125 is the best available small form multipurpose mobile phone in existence.

A few of the standout features include:
*Ability to sync with Notes
*Ability to sync with Outlook
*Reasonably quick internet (use www.mini.opera.com for best results - Windows Mobile IE sux).
*Great talk and standby time (remember to fully charge before 1st use and to fully deplete the charge before recharging the first three cycles)
*Great screen (while smallish it has great contrast in bright light and acceptable resolution)
*Decent 1.3 MP camera for both pictures and video
*Great tactile response and accurate T9 text input
*Fast sync times with ActiveSync
*Great ergonomics and V3XX-killer style
*Easy USB charging

Just a few cons:
*Propietary charging and headset port
*Hard to find accessories
*Middle button is too small and sometimes up/down, or left/right is punched instead of the center "select" key.

On the whole, this phone is perfect for those who desire a phone first and a PDA second. It performs flawlessly as a phone, with excellent, loud ringtones and a wonderful alarm. As a PDA it is acceptable and is capable of keeping you on time to meetings. The contact functionality is first-rate and you will notice no lag in the GUI interface. I do wish that the USB charge/sync cable was not proprietary, but it is included so that somewhat makes up for it. My model did not come with a headset, but it is easy enough to find on Ebay for $15 USD. Look for a Krussel case on Ebay too for the most functional case. Uploading pictures to blogger or for MMS emails to friends is simple. Most websites load quickly, but, again, I recommend that you point the phone's browser to www.mini.opera.com for the best, most customizable internet experience.

Conclusion:
This phone packs a large punch in a small package. Enjoy!

this phone is horrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiibbbbbbbllllleeeeeee

ok so
i broke my bar phone somehow so this was my replacement. i was very excited to receive this phone but after a month or so of having this i was very very sad. :(

this phone is the worst invention cingular has ever had. it freezes on me every morning, drops calls, wont let me answer calls, deletes my text messages, wont charge, charger thingy broke inside the phone and now it comes out when i charge it. if i was you i would never touch this phone with a 1 foot pole. this phone should be burned. also, the camera sucks, it always lags. also there is this light that will not stop blinking on the front of it. it gets annoying because you think someone is calling or something, but there nottttt.

pros: nothing, never get this phone

cons:everything, and the battery does not last that long after like a month

thank you and goodnight

It worked..

I have had the phone for 8 months and I am not retiring the phone. The ring volume is the biggest concern, which lead to the other problems. You can only use certain phone cases for this phone to hear it, but the phone needs a extra protection in a Neoprene sandwich case. The only problem is in case that covers the speakers, you will miss calls because in a typical mid noise environment (office, home, driving in the car) you won't hear the ringer. This is not the case with other phones I have used. The phone has to be pretty close to your body to feel the vibration. I had to edit the volume to the second highest AND Vibrate to hear it in normal noise environments. If you are out at the park with the kids 'forget about it'.

So this means a case that does not offer as much protection. So when it dropped a few times the sound quality was affected.

It's FLIP became FLOPPY and flops open easily wearing the screen (and battery) down when you think it's fully closed. In this case you will open the phone to a BLACK screen. Which I interpret as a failing LCD screen.

So since the phone has NO insurance (Cingular), it's now time to investigate other phone options. I like the PDA component of the phone and the ease of use. Now that my appetite has been
been wet, I'm moving UP to a Treo.

PRO
Music Player
Intuitive
Upcoming Events on Main Screen
Not Heavy
Screen Resolution

CON
Ring Volume
Flip Becomes Floppy
Doesn't Close ALL the way depending on case used

A good buy

The Cingular 3125 is a great phone. Before I got the Cingular 3125, I had the Motorolla SLVR L6. The L6 got horrible reception in my house so I need to get a new phone. The Cingular 3125 was a great choice for a phone. It has great signal in my house, when it has one bar you can still talk on it, unlike my other phone which you couldn’t even talk on 3 bars most of the time.

PROs:
Camera is good for a 1.3 mega pixels
Has great signal
Good speakers
Can do a lot of things with the phone closed(listen to music, take a picture)
Screen is bright

CONs:
No flash on the Camera
Can’t see more than one alarm
The memory card is behind the SIM card

So overall this is a great phone.
