waste!

Sep 13, 2005 by toocoolforwords

Have nothing good to say about this phone. I had this phone for about 7 months. (stuck in a contract)

Pros:
Long battery life

Cons:
Poor audio quality
Poor graphics
Phone missed and dropped calls
Buttons stick

This phone was a disappointment from day one.

Don't Waste Your Money!

I have had this phone for about 6 months. Have had to place the antenna twice. It comes of easily and strips the phone so it is difficult to keep an antenna in place. Choose another phone!

IF YOU VALUE QUALITY - NOT HERE

PROS: It is a cute, compact phone and the speaker phone works ok.

CONS: Signal - forget about it. so many of the antenna's fall of, which by the way is not uncommon for Motorola phones. I work in the wireless industry and I have had so many returns and defects on this phone. The color screen is dim. Menu takes a while for customers to figure out, especially if they are not used to cell phones.

Poor Manual

I just got my new V180 yesterday and spent time reading the manual. Wasted time. Couldn't be more useless than if it were written entirely in a foreign language. Icons within manual are so small I may need to break out the magnifying glass.

I am not an idiot when it comes to electronics (I'm in software) but I honestly do not understand how to use this thing. Pages upon pages of explanations for features I do not intend to use, and minimal information on things that are vital.

Give me back my Nokia.

Hate It Or Love It... HATE IT

the only reason this phone got a .5 is because it had clear reception (thanks cingular), and a good speakerphone. everything else on this phone sucked. if you are ever thinking about buying this phone here is some advice- don't.

AWFUL!!!

I have just had problems with the service of the phone. I am going today to get a a new phone.. I don't get the coverage like the other phones. They told me that this is the best phone on the market.. WRONG!!

V180 - Bad reception & useless speaker

Aug 12, 2005 by ches

Forget the features. What really matters with a cell phone is the ability to send and receive calls. I had this phone for a few weeks, and had to return it due to it's inability to get a signal. The speaker phone is a joke, too. I just switched from Nextel, and why Motorola can't use the same speaker phone technology is beyond comprehension.

Do yourself a favor - buy a Nokia. Flip phones are for people who want toys, not tools.

Don't waste your time!

The only reason this phone got a .5 is because it comes with half way decent ringtones!!

Cons:
-Bad Reception
-Dropped Calls (My friend has a V220, and that and the V180 literaly drops every single call you make)
-Outside scratches very easily
-I have to charge the battery twice a day
-Vibrate is barely there
-The phone has to be turned upside down to hear it, because they put the speaker on the back instead of the side.
-Comes with All Demo Games
-Graphics are horrible, and look to have been done by a child
-Adding contacts isn't a simple step, it forces you to choose a keypad code for each number
-Lots of "Retry, Network not available"
-Deletes your text messages without you asking it to!
-Ring Tones not loud at all, you also do not have the option of having vibrate on at the same time as the ring
-Hard to hear the person on the other line, not a real big difference between volume 1 and volume 7

Not a good phone at all, I would stay away from Motorola Products completly! When I went to exchange mine, no joke, there were 4 other people I didn't know getting rid of theirs because they hated it!

Not a good phone at all...

May 23, 2005 by v12turbo76

Before I got this phone, I've heard good things about it. Now that I have it, I really don't think this phone lived up to my expectations at all. There are good things about it, and there are a lot of bad things about it. What pissed me off the most is this phone tend to show most calls as missed calls. I mean I don't answer the phone after one ring, so I waited until it show the number, and maybe answer after two rings. Even after I answer the phone, it shows as missed calls. And this phone IS cheap. I already exchanged to my second one already. At first I thought maybe it was the first one I got that was defective. but no... they are all cheap. However, I do like the usb port on the phone. Made it easy to upload MP3s and ring tones, and even use it as a usb modem. I think I'd rather get a different phone than the 180. So for the last few days, I've been using my old phone, and looking for a new one.

unimpressive

Cons :
1. very poor reception, the poorest quality in a lot of phones i've used.
2. Screen frequently blanks out for no apparent reason.
3. very poor color resolution.
4. Episodes of dropped calls incessant after 20 minutes of talk time.

Pros :
1. small, portable and durable.
2. good battery life.

Overall impression ; It's not worth getting this phone. Too many functional hassles.
