First

Jun 20, 2008 by -J-

It was my first. I hated it at first. The boring bland look, no camera, didnt have any games. Was a basic simple phone. Just to talk and txt. No more no less. I had the phone for a little more than a year until upgraded to the chocolate. Man did i miss my old 3200. Sure the phone was simple yet it never gave me no problems, I probably dropped it more than a billion times. The thing was just beat up but it never gave out on me. The most reliable phone i have ever had. And it was also dropped in water. Still worked for a year after. My dad had the same phone he loved it also. I have a PDA know but it still isnt as reliable i think as the VX 3200!

Tough Little Phone

OK, so it's not a camera, mp3 player, or computer, but what do you really buy a phone for? Performance! This little gem is a great phone:

Pros:
Good reception, very few dropped calls, vivid color screen with display options, Tones are good and loud when you want it, ear piece is loud and clear, speaker phone is very good.

Cons:
No external display.

Added note: This phone took a bath in a cup of coffee and survived working perfectly!

Those of you claiming bad reception. Start looking at your service, not the phone.

tricks

this phone will not stay connected more then 2 min and it drops it has 1 Antenna bar..
i did some checking on the net.

i took the rubber stopper out beside the Antenna and put 5 Antenna boosters in front of the battery just stacked on top each other you can get them on ebay for penny..well it worked the lg vx3200 stays
connected it still says 1 bar but it works..

you can try External Antenna With Magnetic Stand For LG VX3200, VX4500, VX7000.
i have not ..
i was reading about this External Antenna and thats how i found out about the rubber stopper beside the Antenna.
it may work for you try at your own risk .
i don't know if this would be harmful to your phone it sure helped mine.

Pleased with it

It's a terrible shame that this great phone of mine was recently damaged by a liquid spill. The screen has turned into a kaliedoscope of random colors and the data/usb port at the bottom of the phone no longer works. Other than that the phone still functions and hasn't lost any functionality. This poor phone has withstood 2 spills, about 1/2 dozen drops on concrete, high heat, several tosses across the room, and the usual everyday rough-handling a phone might endure during over a year of daily use. That said, this is a robust phone that'll take a beating!
Accessories are relatively easy to find and inexpensive.
The display is highly customizable.
You can choose custom ringtones and graphics or photos to identify individual callers.
There are handy features indluded such as an easy tip calclator, highly customizable alarm clock settings, vibration, supports real-tone ringers and photos, descent color range for photos about 16 ringers included, easy to use calculator, voice dailing and 1-key speed dialing, multiple entries per contact (about 5 or 6 slots) with an email address pere entry, well-lit keypad and customizable backlight options, quick jump to a contact on your list, makes short phone call records, fair reception (better than many, worse than some), light-weight slim design, great speakerphone, moderate battery life and more.

Here are the few con's:
- Only allows 50 incoming messages to be stored, and once you've reached 80% of your inbo storage space you'll receive an annoying note telling you this each time you open the box.
- The text messaging is less user-friendly than other phones. And if the message fails to send on the 2nd attempt the message you've typed is lost.
- A bit slow on powering up and shut off.
- Annoyingly slow internet (@ metro) functioning.
- No games included

The only thing that I feel this phone lacked was a camera and at least 1 game.

The Perfect Basic Phone

This phone is perfect for what you want it to do, make and receive calls and an ocassional text or 2! This phone is not fancy in any way, but I knew that when I bought it in the first place. This phone is sturdy as a rock and can withstand tons of drops beatings earthquakes whatever! No it doesnt have a front screen, but DUH didnt you know that when you bought it!!! It is a really neat phone! I like how you can record a voice memo and set it as your ringtone!!! Sweetness! I just went to a ringtone website and held my 3200 up to the speaker, recorded it (it took a coulple of times to get it to sound right) then I saved it and set it as my ringtone! How simple was that!>!> Great phone!!!

A simple phone.

First off, I had this phone for about half a year. There was nothing wrong with it. I just change phones quite frequently.

Pros -
* I love the keypad and the blue lights. It is very easy to text on.
* Small design.
* Very powerful vibrate.
* Good battery life.

Cons -
* The outter front cover is very plain
* No camera.

Like I said this is a very simple phone. I loved it!

the phone has nothing to do with dropped calls

Jun 22, 2006 by danibabe

The actual phone has nothing to do with dropped calls. It is the service provider that drops the calls. If you get dropped calls often and obviously can’t change service due to fees and penalties... call your provider and tell them each time you have a dropped call most of the providers will gladly credit those calls but if they don’t know about them there isn’t much they can do. As for the phone it self... I worked for a wireless company many years ago and I will say that LG has come a long way. So don’t knock the phone knock the service provider.

A no-frills phone that consistently drops calls

Jun 12, 2006 by hags2k

I got this phone because it was cheap and it was basic. I just wanted a reliable phone without any frills. I thought this was a great choice. I was mistaken.

First of all, it doesn't hold its own even as a "basic" model. The reception seemed okay at first, but after a while it just got worse and worse. I've used other people's phones in every area where I typically use my own and on the SAME SERVICE (Verizon Wireless). In all these areas my phone drops calls, despite having as many as FOUR signal indicator bars, yet I was able to hold the call and maintain calls without problems when using other people's phones. Even sprint phones, which get terrible reception in my area, don't drop calls even a tenth as much as my phone does.

Several of my friends and my girlfriend's father own this phone as well, and they all have either had their phones replaced with other models through insurance, or are contemplating replacing their phones at their own expense. Perhaps not all of these phones are bad, but the fact that mine and most of my friends' phones are physically in good condition yet can't maintain decent reception or hold onto calls makes me VERY suspicious.

So, this is a basic phone that can't do the basics. Caveat Emptor.

Pros: Small, basic, pretty durable

Cons: Doesn't do the only thing it's designed to do - make and receive calls consistently without dropping them. Only seems to work when I have at least FIVE reception bars, which is almost never.

I'd take an old, black and white screen, and bulky nokia over this phone any day. In fact, I just bought one through eBay to replace this one for 12 bucks, and it's a huge upgrade as far as I'm concerned.
