MDA II/ XDA II THE BEST PDA PHONE

Aug 18, 2004 by intenseflipper

Awesome phone. It's lighter and faster than it's predecessor. Email with T-Mobile GPRS is great. I've set mine to download email once every hour. This makes checking Email super fast because you are not waiting for it to download. OK, outgoing is a bit slow, blame T-Mobile. The Wi-Fi SDIO works great if your near a wireless network. It even sends and receives attachments perfectly. Look out RIM(Blackberry). Screen is much brighter but adjustable for maximum battery life(Brightness is equal to the original MDA in lowest setting). Camera works great. Better pictures than most phones. SDIO slot works great with 1.0Gb SD card. I bought this phone because I wanted to take advantage of blue-tooth since I have three Sony/Ericsson headsets(" Three seems to be enough to get by for a day.) I replaced my old MDA with the MDA II for this reason. Apparently, this phone doesn't like Sony/Ericsson headsets. Other brands may be more compatible?? It doesn't recognize my headsets most of the time, so I'm stuck with a wire in my ear for now. Accessories are hard to find. This is by far the best PDA phone on the market today for these reasons. Not to mention it has the largest screen which makes this phone super easy to use compared to all those little PDA phones with their little screens that are hard to read. Size does matter!! HA HA

IF YOU DECIDE TO BUY AN MDA/XDA II, DO NOT PURCHASE IT FROM WWW.GSMPHONESOURCE.COM
THE PLACE SEEMS TO BE RUN BY GHOSTS!!

ADAM NEVER ANSWERS THE PHONE!!!

NEVER RETURNS PHONE CALLS!!!(I think he may be the only one there or not???)

NEVER REPLYS TO EMAILS!!!
NO TRACKING NUMBERS FOR SHIPPING.

THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL!

I'M JUST HAPPY THAT I GOT MY PHONE FINALLY!!!

I'M STILL TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY $50.00 ACCESSORY ORDER FOR MY P800. TWO MONTHS OF TRYING TO CONTACT ANYONE WITH NO SUCCESS.

HOW THIS GUY REMAINS IN BUSINESS IS A MYSTERY???????

GREAT PHONE

This phone has it all. Bluetooth,CAM,Great battery life and Pocket2003. Use the phone in my car with the sonyericsson bluetooth kit and a M3oo headset. The ms Voice is a cool program nice just to say contacts and have it pull up the list. I got mine from place called Tek&Toys and they had many in stock and fast shipping.

Absolutely Fantastic Phone

I got a T-mobile MDA II about 2 weeks ago from www.gsmphonesource.com (Las Vegas, NV). The phone is absolutely fantastic, and REPRESENTS A MAJOR TECHNOLOGY STEP FORWARD for this type of device.
1) Because the PDA runs the Windows Mobile PC 2003 operating system, you can purchase Microsoft's Voice Command software. This software is fantastic. You can talk to your PDA, giving it commands like "Play music", "Call John Doe", "What's My Next Appointment". In the first case, it will search the music files that I have downloaded, and allow me to select music to play by album, artist, genre. I've downloaded several hours of music onto a 500MB SD card that I purchased. It can look up names from my contacts list on the PDA. The voice recognition software seems to match the names in my list every time. I like that it can read my appointments, give me the name, purpose and location of the meetings.
2) The camera phone works better than most. What is different about this camera, is that you can select the lighting level. With the other camera phones that I have tried, if the lighting wasn't perfect, you got a really bad picture. This camera took reasonable pictures in high and low light settings.
3) No antenna phone seems to work well. Although the phone I purchased has the T-mobile brand name on it, I got a SIM unlocked phone from www.gsmphonesource.com. I put in my Cingular SIM card, and was talking on the phone immediately. The GPRS service (web connect) works well in the San Diego area. This phone works better than my previous phone (Handspring Visor Prism with GSM Phone attachment), when used with the same SIM card.
4) Additional GPS hardware (Co-Pilot Live from www.alk.com) is great. I can download customized maps, and get dynamically adjusted driving directions.
5) Alot of included Microsoft applications (need to purchase on a Palm), like Windows media player, voice recorder, Word, Excel, E-Book Reader.

XDA II

I was in Hong Kong last week and saw this phone on display is stores all over. I was told it was just released there a couple days previous. Got to hold one and test it out. It's large for a phone, and would be cumbersome clipped to the hip, but a very nice phone. The camera worked well.. when in picture taking mode the preview picture takes up the whole screen, looked good. If only it was a 2 megapixel camera. Processor seemed fast. Overall looks like a great toy!
