this phone is amazing

Jan 22, 2011 by narn3049

when I used this phone for the first time I could honestly say it was an amazing phone. it worked and turned on and called. thats the basic phone that people need to have. well thanks for letting me share my review, the one con, but still a 5.0 because this phone is great is because it has a 9,99 data plan. it is kinda messed up because phones shouldnt have this if they are basic and a no frills phone. amazing otherwise.

Data plan for this?

Why is anyone going to pay an additional 10 dollars a month to use this phone.

Fix this VZW!

LG 8360 is junk

Unfortunately this site will not allow me to express my true feelings for this phone. I switched from a Motorola razor which is considered obsolete. The only downside on it was it kept eating batteries.

I opted for the new LG 8360 as my upgrade (big mistake). it has poor reception, cannot pick up signal in areas I used to be able to get them before, the video and photo options are horrible and the feedback is maddening.

Texting is so hard because you have to have the fingers of a 2 year old to be able to use it.

It is incredibly slow and the voice command used to call off your list does not recognize who's on your list.

All in all I would recommend this phone only if you needed a paper weight or skipping stone as it is totally worthless.

LG VX8360

I hate changing phones. It is a pain in the butt. But I had too and so I chose the VX8360. I like everything about the phone.
I only have one grip. I have a problem with sporadic sidetone. Sometimes I can hear myself like I am supposed to and about half the time I cannot. When you can;t, you end up asking the one your talking to if they are still there. You think the phone went dead. It didn't and you can still talk to the other party but you can't hear yourself. OK, so you know something isn't right, but just try to explain it to a customer service rep. Good luck. They will have no clue to what your talking about. Tell them to Google "cell phone sidetone" That should help them to realize, "whow, I never knew that" then maybe they will replace your phone. Like I said, other than the sidetone problem, I really do like the phone. It does everything it supposed to do. Hope this helps.

As its predecessors from the 8100 forward, this series from LG is a standout. Not an extremely overloaded phone. If texting is not your cup of tea, this phone cuts it perfectly. Just one thing....if you are not a fan of the EV-DO disable it by choosing 1X only in the services menu under the network option and your battery life will be greatly extended.

Good phone bad battery

Pros: Good phone, good sound quality, good pictures.

Cons: Battery life could be a lot better, battery goes dead when phone is shut off.

Battery Life, or lack there of.

Verizon and LG advertise this phone to have a standby battery life of 641 hours. I feel lucky if I can get 96 hours standby and 5 minutes usage. The phone drops from 2 bars to dead in less than 6 hours with no usage. Totally undependable. My wife carries her phone as an emergency phone and doesn't know whether it will still be working when she leaves work.

These were replacements for 8300's. Their normal recharge schedule was about every 3 weeks with a regular battery, and every 4 weeks with an extended life battery. Verizon has replaced both phones twice, and a third replacement is on the way for my wife's phone. After 2 replacements, I have one that seems to be meeting the standby rating. My phone with an extended battery has been on for 22 days and still has 2 lines left. This is normal to me.
