your phone, laptop and cellphone

the hiptop is the coolest thing ever. the web browser is surprisingly nice to use. the phone is slightly awkward, but usable. email is a dream. the web has almost all the features of ie. bookmarks, homepage, recent pages and a url capture for email. the browser is a wee bit slower than a 56k. as a phone, the speaker is plenty loud enough. I do not like headsets, so I always hold the phone to my ear. at first, the phone was awkward to hold, but after a few calls I actually found I liked it better than previous phones. the larger size made it somewhat easier to hold. no hand cramping like with a se t68i. that said, the phone isn't tiny, but doesn't feel like a brick either. the screen, while small is very easy to read. the backlight is the nice calm blue. very nice. the keypad is small but not too small. it took me about two days to get used to typing text messages on a qwert keypad. so after having the sidekick for a week I will never have another phone again. well, maybe when the new color one comes out. it does everything but the laundry. and I wrote this on the sidekick too.

This phone is the best !

This phone is the best phone I have ever had. I had this phone for about a week and with
T-mobile unlimited data plan you can never get bored with it.
I love the mobile snapshots you can take with the free camera that comes free with it.
The Web Browser is almost just like viewing it on monitor.

Basely it's a 2 way pager, cell phone, and a computer.

Only a few parts I didn't like about the phone:
It takes a little while to get use to all of its functions and there's no speaker phone, the alarm is not loud enough. And you only get 200 minutes total with the phone.

Just to let you know you can't chat online in chat rooms, view any applets to play other games, view any flash content in the web browser.

There so many good things about this phone I could go on and on. I would tell everyone to get this phone. If you talk little one the phone and need your emails on the go then get this phone. "The best thing you'll ever buy"

Disappointed!

I bought this phone as soon as it came out because this looked like the phone to end all phones!! But soon after buying this phone I was very disappointed. The phone cannot really be personalized, unless you use the very lame included ring tones. The screen on the sidekick is very fragile and breaks almost just by touching it. By the time i switched phones i was on my third sidekick in three months!! The reception on the phone was awful as well. The only time that I had good reception was when I was on the highway! The only upside that I had about the phone was the fact that there was a full qwerty keyboard under the screen. All in all, this was a giant waste of money and gave nothing but a large headache. I only hope that the sidekick 2 has fixed the problems, but I will not waste my time on it!!

SideKick

I have had the S.K. since Nov. i am about to be on my 3rd one. It is a great concept of device, but there are too many drawbacks. I love the fact that you can review word docs, but you can not edit them in the email. It is a great tool, but if you stay on the go and your communication lifeline is your sidekick, plan to lose some business... I have had too many txt msg/voice mail/and email delayed by hours, or txt msg sent in duplicate and been charged for them.

I bought the SK and was having a ball until I realized there was not calculator on it... I was distraught for a while about this new discovery...

I do like the camera feature, but they are too small... you can not customize the front screen with the pics you take.. nor does it have a photo I.D. in addition to the ringer I.D.

some features that are on the newer model phones may need to be incorporated in the later models in order to compete with the DEMANDING U.S. market for cellular phones.

Perhaps the service providers could step it up a notch across the board. Since i have web access on my phone wouldn't it be great to be able to handle billing issues from your side kick? Can't view bill or up to date usage!!! AAARRGGGGGGHHHH.... but the device alone gets me numbers!!!
