New Trend????? I hope not.

I must say...when I first saw the information & pictures on the 8600, I was sold. When it released however, I went to the local Verizon store to find that the damn thing has the polished finished on the outside shell. I hate the KRAZR because of that, and now this phone. That is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. You can't touch the thing without making noticeable smudge prints all over it. I hope that this new polished finish is not the new trend that the new phones are going to have. Needless to stay I stayed with my 8300 for now. I hope to hear what you guys think. Take care, and have a good and safe Thanksgiving.

It won't be. I'm sure LG and VZW are both hearing this to the nth degree and have quickly figured out this is bad. How it gets past testing this way is beyond me.

They're a little slow on the uptake.
Apple did the same thing with the Nano. Took them a year to give 'em an aluminum case like the Mini had.
Ironical they usually made the same mistake with an earlier model.

I think the shiny look is in, even in computers. The HP laptop I just got my daughter had a shiny finish too. And I've seen Compaq's with the shiny finish too.

I forgot to add in my first post that I do like the look of the finish, but I just can't stand the way it smudges. It does look good, but that just is not something you have on a phone where you are usually touching it constantly.

Should have waited for the 'Shine"/ Brushed alumium slider. Next in the chololate series. Looks real neat.
