Bluetooth Capability

I was wondering what the bluetooth capability of this phone was. Are you able to transfer mp3s and pix from a phone of a different carrier to this one?

I've heard that all of the phones for Verizon cannot transfer mp3s because the bluetooth is not supported. I want some confirmation because I was planning on switching to Cingular and getting a phone similar to this one.

If you could please list some of the bluetooth capabilities of this phone (ie: mp3s, pix, other files). Thanks in Advance

nope you definitely will not be able to transfer files from phone to phone via bluetooth. All your can do with verizon's bluetooth is hands-free, vcard transfer, ev-do modem use w/ computer, and specially for this phone stereo bluetooth headset.

Sahaskatta; you are wrong. There is no other way to say it.

I picked mine up yesterday afternoon and have been using OBEX all night. Transferring pix, sounds and videos is incredibly easy. I also connected to my friends Cingular RAZR with no problems.

For all the VZW people who have been annoyed at VZW for crippling bluetooth, complain no more as this has everything you could ask for including AD2P (stereo bluetooth).

Yes, you cannot transfer files from phone to phone through bluetooth, but you can transfer files from phone to cpu and micro sd in the phone to your cpu, and vice versa. I have already done it, and it works very fast and smoothly.

Please tell me how. I can sync my phone and my laptop (Mac) and file transfer is not an option. I even try to force a file transfer by using Macs Bluetooth file transfer application and it says that the device will not accept the file I am trying to send, and when I try to send anyway, my phone says "receiving" and then it quits and says cancel. Can you guys help?

Glad you guys are having success.

I can't make it work with my MacMini. It'll connect, 1 out of every 10 times, then trying to transfer files never works, and I've noticed, you don't have access to the "My Music" folder anyway.

I've had 0 success so far transfering MP3s to the thing via bluetooth.

Well, looks like it's trying to send, but the phone rejects the files.

Maybe i have a different version of the software? So far, it won't accept MP3s, WMAs, or MIDs. The MacMini reports the phone as saying "Transfers of these file types are not allowed."

I have an unlocked MOTO SLVR and tried to connect to this phone via bluetooth. It couldn't find it. My SLVR finds all other non-VZW phones and i doubt VZW all of the sudden crippled the phone i just played with 2 days ago.
