2gb micro sd problems

Oct 10, 2006, 1:22 AM
Has anyone experienced problems using a 2gb card in this phone? The card I got works fine in other model phones and in my card reader but gives me an error everytime i try to format it in the phone. I also tried it in another d900 and it had the same problem.

my son has the same phone & we are having identical problems - we purchased a Kingston 1Gb card, had it replaced & exactly the same problems - msg from Kingston supplier - phone supports max 512Mb - msg from Samsung South Africa is that they know the phone has been tested with Sandisk card - finding it very difficult to accept all this - phone presently taken in to be checked out with the 1Gb Kingston card - still waiting for feedback - all very disappointing

if you go to samsungmobile.com they tell you ext memory up to 512Mb - however there is another site mobymemory.com & this site is very imformative - go check it out

The Samsung D900 was only tested with a 512mb card and not with a 1 or 2gig card. So Samsung will not see a problem like this with the phone.

What to try is to format your memory card in the phone. Or to format the card in your PC into a Fat16 format. This way the phone might recognises the memory easily and be able to use it properly.

Also it might depend on who produced the card as there is a problem with the SanDisk memory cards and the samsung phones.

Hope this helps.
