All I want to do is play freakin' music on my 9900! I just traded in my 990 for this, and I STILL can't play music! I'm an IT pro, and for some damn reason can't get a simple wma to play on this damn thing!!! What the hell am I doing wrong? I traded in my 1 gig micro sd card for another 1 gig SD card and still have 0 results!! What the heck is going on?

I have done every possible thing imagineable and still can't get it to work.

I have formatted the card in the phone, formatted it on the computer in fat32 format suggested first by Samsung. I have encoded the songs in a 3rd party encoder, and then in windows media player 10. I don't have the essentials kit with cable, but shouldn't have to use that to put simple wma data on the c...

Just a note. I am going to buy a new card reader tomorrow. I have a VERY strange feeling from the tests I've been running that my card reader is corrupting the data before it gets to the card. If this is the case, I'm going to open the biggest can of whoopass on this thing imagineable! If this is the case, it basically made me get rid of my 990 to which I didn't want to because I loved it! It's a good thing I love the 9900 as well. Sometimes I'd love to say to hell with technology! :^)

With a card and card reader, you should just be able to drag and drop your MP3's from your desktop into the MY_MUSIC folder. I think all the converting your doing may be the problem.

From what your saying it kind of sounds that your reader might be bad OR you might be running into a license issue with all the formatting or converting you are doing! The 9900's player is mp3 and/or mwa! The 9900 has a different UI than the others so you do have to format the card in the phone, not your PC! Doing it in the phone will put the correct folders (it even adds just a MP3 folder) and paths. See if you can get your hands another reader, format the card in the 9900 under the memory menu and try it again. And to make it alittle easier or to be on the side just use the manager sw after you format.

Don't format on computer, only format in phone. When you format in phone it will add the folders you nee ex: pix/flix. If you refrmat it in the cmputer you jsut deleted them. Not sure if that is your problem, i just through mine in phone, formated it and put music into the folder on card and tada.
