Extended Battery?

I have not received my enV yet, however, I noticed people's comments about the phone not being able to sit properly because of the camera sticking out. My question to you guys was, has anyone bought the extended battery and if so does that help even things out?

Looking forward to this phone!

I am actually very curious about this too, if anyone has an extended battery can you tell us if it helps the phones situation when set down?

I purchased one with my phone and as soon as I saw it, I decided to return it. It sticks out too much, about 1/4" and it's just too bulky. When you lay it down, it does even it out. For those who purchased a holster with their phone, you can see the protrusion from the back of the holster.

i don't have a 9900 yet so i haven't tried this, but one idea i thought might work for using the 9900 at a desk or work surface area would be to take a mousepad, cut it down to whatever footprint you wanted, then cut a hole where the camera sits underneath

so the extended battery doesn't even out the camera?

Yes, it was verified that the extended battery would in fact even out the bottom panel of the phone. However, the end result would make the phone too bulky according to one source. Take that into consideration if that helps in your decision making.

Let me rephrase my comment, it doesn't even out with the camera lense in that the extended battery levels out the camera. It makes it more bulky adding 1/4" depth to the back of the phone and the protrusion is so boxy that it doesn't feel comfortable holding the phone without the holster. The extended battery will lay the phone even when placed on the table, but it really ruins the form factor of the phone.

On a side, note, I've been getting the same amout of juice from the standard battery compared with the extended battery from the VX9800 (this is with the bluetooth constantly on). I'm very impressed with the power management of the VX9900. I get about 3 days.
