MY desktop will read me 2GB card, but not my 4GB card. Does any one know a way that I can get my desktop to read the 4GB Card?

It was formated in the phone. I can transfer music through the Music Essentials Kit. The problem is that if I can't read it in my computer, it will make transferring picture and videos much harder.

Wait so you were able to get the 4GB card to read and write on your phone???

I had my phone upgraded to the T99VZV02 software that supports the 4GB card. But the phone still wouldn't read/write to the 4GB card.

Also, the 4GB card would not read in my computer either. So I don't know what the problem is.

OK have you check to confirm the little switch on the card is not in the locked position.....That is where I would start....If this does not work I would try reformatting the card in the phone...Yes you will lose everything but hopefully you have it backed up somewhere.

I am having the exact same problem. Reformatting the card in the phone doesn't help. I check the Sandisk website and the Microsoft website in hopes that I would download a driver but no such luck. If you ever find a solution, let me know and I will do the same.

I have also had the exact same problem and none of the solutions worked. I'm wondering if maybe there's a defect in the manufacturing of the 4GB card (or maybe a bad batch?)

I had the same problem on two PC's running WinXP. I called SanDisk tech support.

Apparently my old readers won't support SD HC which isn't exactly the same thing as regular SD. Apparently, the 4GB card is an SD HC card. Get a reader that lists SD HC as supported and they told me it should work.

See my post today about the VX9900 not working with the 4GB card.

If this drive is an internal card-reader, you need to update the drivers in order for the computer to see the new SDHC card.

Yes. It is an interbal card reader. I have an HP Computer it automatically lets me know when there is an update. As of last night, I am up-to-date. Any idea what driver I would need to upgrade ? Is it separate from normal updates?

Not sure exactly what driver you need. But I do know that the SD port on the side of my laptop was having a problem seeing SDHC cards. My solution (rather than try to find drivers) was just to buy a USB card-reader for $5, and that solved the problem. Make sure you get a newer one (preferably one that lists SDHC compatibility).
And, a normal Windows update is not going to update your internal card-reader driver, I think you need to contact HP about that (or search on their website/support area). 🙄

Ashaneen,
so does the 4GB card certainly work with the enV? I have a SanDisk memory card reader (about 2 years old), but it did not work with the 4GB SDHC card.
If the 4GB card will work on the enV with no problem reading/writing, then I'll try to purchase it again.

Thanks!

So the 4GB card works fine in your computer and in your enV? Please let me know - if it does, I'm going out 2morrow and getting a new one.

Thanks.
