Battery Life

I just got this phone yesterday, and

I charged overnight , using it today.

From 8:30 AM until 5:30 PM,

I didn't use it much, I only have 2 bars left

in the battery icon.

I'm afraid if this battery will even last a day.

Is my battery defective?

or is it just like this?

Anybody having same problem?

Thanks.

I am getting a little worried too... i've been playing around with mine today quite a bit but it was fully charged and from 10am to 4pm i went from full power to 2 bars... but i have been using it a lot.

Well, good news (i think). Im similar in that I first got the phone, charged it up, and it died before the end of the day.

Well, i must have been playing with it more than i realized cause the second and third days ive used it have been much much better.

It had a full charge when I woke up thursday...its now saturday morning and i still have 2 bars. Thats with medium talking, lots of texting, and some camera use.

I hope your situations end up being similar...but let me know...im curious

As of today,

still, I charged overnight,

it's about 4:15 PM,

I made only 4~5 calls 2 mins each maybe?

I got 2 bars left.

One of my friends is using same phone,

but she's using it 2 days without charging it.

I think something wrong with the battery.

I'm gonna try to go to Verizon service store

on coming Monday, and see if I can replace it

with new one.

Ok,

If I turn off EVDO, then

battery life increases dramatically.

I haven't spent a single bar in the battery gauge today.

I guess it uses battery a lot when it tries to switch back and forth between EVDO and 1X..

yes, lots of times when you are between two types of networks: evdo or digital, or digital and roaming or analog, your phone battery life goes way down way faster. but there also is defective batteries, or defective phones that drain battery life much faster as well

My battery does not seem good either. I purchased this phone yesterday and when I got it I was given VCAST for a month for free. I do not live in a VCAST area. Think the phone is searching for a VCAST signal and that is running the battery down?

If your in a "fringe" area it will search for it and you should turn off EVDO.

I also am concerned about the battery life I charged the phone TWICE today with using a lot of sms, average calling, but I guess I also had the media player on for not too long but at the highest volume setting so to mee it seems on the edge of acceptable but I give it a pass. I will try another scenario tommorow. If anything I hope buying an extended battery cant fix.
