with no data plan?
what would happen if i buy the sidekick without the data plan?
i know i won't have internet and instant messaging, but i will still be able to text message.
but will there be any other cons to no getting the data plan (ie. losing personal data)?

When you get a sidekick 3 without the data plan you have a phone, no IM, no internet, and no data backup through danger's servers. With you can text and call but that's it. Look at it this way...it costs 10 cents to send or receive a text message and it costs 14.99 a month for unlimited text. So that means if you send or receive 150 text messages that's already 15 dollars in a month. Sidekick service costs 20 dollars a month and you get unlimited text, email, internet browsing, and data backup. So for the price of 200 text messages you can make your sidekick "phone" a fully functional sidekick data device (unless you're a smart access customer and this option is not availableto you).
