Can somebody explain me what are the pros and cons of unlocked version? Does it really worth extra $400?
Thank you!

unlocked has an extra camera in front for video calling which isnt really used in the US. unlocked version allows you to switch between gsm carriers. no branding, no cingular rom but you can always change that anyways.

If you are saving 400 then I assume you are getting it as part of either a new contract or upgrade...so with unlocked you wouldnt have to update a contract, which is always a plus.

you can get a tytn(same thing, just unlocked) for around 500 so not a 400 dollar difference.

Thanks, elmuchachos !
I am a Sprint costumer right now, but couple last months I am having big times troubles with sprint service. And my contract with Sprint just expired.
So I am considering switching to Cingular and signing contact with them. And I really like this 8525 phone.
One more thing. Can you hook up regular audio player headset to it (3.5 minijack) , or do you need adapter to do that?
