CAN YOU EMAIL THE RINGERS AND SET THEM AS CONTACTS AND ALERTS??? AND HOWS THE FRONT LCD, IS THE PIC QUALITY GOOD, IS IT DIM LIKE THE A970???

Yes on the ringers part.

The front is a split level 65K OLED, meaning the top portion always stays on and displays the time/status in BRIGHT Blue digits, while the bottom is activated to display color graphics. There is no backlight in and OLED display so it is better on battery life.

Display is MUCH better than the one on the A970.

does anyone know a site to use to get them .. I used to use walmart but you cant save them from there anymore

any help would be appreicated

as for the 990 .. all I did was email the MP3 to my phone as save sound .. then go into the my sounds area and apply as ring tone or contact ID

I use 2 free sites.. www.funformobile.com is a very useful websight that has free uplooads on it, but almost has too much of a varity... and mobile17.com.. this one allows you pick a certain portion of any song to put as ringtone (ie the chorus or your favorite line or 2) but the free version of this site only lets u use it once ~ every 45 minutes or so .. You can buy teh version and use it nonstop without waiting for pretty cheap..

The file they returned to me is a "qcp". I can install on my memory card but it doesn't show up when I try to use it as a ringtone. Any ideas? 😕

The phone is great .. the only reason not to like it is because of Verizons UI .. and its also why alot of what I call us "phone freaks" are giving it bad reviews .. people who are "in" to phones dont want to be restricted .. they want full access .. its why we would pay that much for a phone like this

the phone itself is everything it is supposed tobe .. camera is great .. sound quality good .. options and features are all here .. the UI suxs but we all know this .. you cant knock the phone because the UI when you already know the UI sux

I thought aobut this for a while .. and I think Verizon effed up .. I mean .. they have a standered UI because they say its easier for people to use .. however the people who would pay this much for...

the my sounds area on my 990 doesn't allow saving as a ringtone or contact ID. Is there something I'm overlooking?

the only way i was able to do it was putting them on my memory card in my sounds, it works great!!

Geez, I can get it to work.
You have the file as a .mid on your PC and then E-Mail it to your phone.
When your phone gets the E-Mail you open it up and it will start playing the file.
You then select Options and Save Audio.
