Have any of you had success making ringtones with 1) Audacity and vzwpix.com or 2) voice memo as described by the Rever under Newbie Helps? I have tried this both ways and everything works as described until I send it and get the same disappointing screen "Invalid destination address" Either I am leaving out something or this is not supported by version 3. Any comments/ideas?

I have had a lot of luck with Audacity, and I use BitPim to send it to your phone. Using the bluetooth. Also I have sent them to my phone by sending it to my phone from my email account. Just attach the song to the message and send it to yourphonenumber@vzxpix.com The quality is not nearly as good as using BitPim though. 🙂

Thanks for the response. Yes, Audacity worked very well but my problem came when I tried to send it to my number@vzwpix.com. I got the "invalid destination address" Do you have version 03? I was thinking maybe that's where the problem is.

My fault. What I meant to say was do you have software version 03 on your LG8300.

Mine is 01 for the last three... what is the difference? does mine need to be updated? if so should I? or should I just keep it the way it is so I can still get ringtones?

There are quite a few differences you can read about by searching this forum under "version 3". As I said initially, I have not had success sending home-made ringtones to my phone. If this capability is of primary importance to you, and you have had success with v.01, I would be hesitant to load up v.03 until we see some clarification, hopefully on this site.
