When you change any of the 'picture message settings' and then try to 'send a picture', the phone reboots. (Try it)

Went through 5 phones from 3 T-Mobile stores in 4 days and they all had same problem.

I had my 6133 flashed with the unbranded firmware and sent a picture to myself with no problems. I have a feeling it has to do with a bug in the T-mobile's firmware.

test it out by enabling message receipt notifications under the picture messaging settings. then send a picture message. to fix it, use the reset to factory settings option.

Ok... I am on my 3rd Nokia 6133 phone this week. They cannot fix the picture messaging sending glitch. One guy went through 4 phones in a 14 day period. Any other advice t-mobile does not know?

Try the suggestion earlier in the tread. Reset factory settings seems to get rid of some of the phone's bugs.

Tried that on every phone already and they took me off the tower to see if it was a network problem. Still no goes on any of the trouble shooting technique. They are starting to realize there is a problem with these phones. I even tried a new sim card as well.

I had my phone flashed by iunlock.com with the 6131's software and it has given me zero problems with anything on the phone. I can use Opera Mini, Google Maps, MMS, the internal e-mail client, internal browser (when using t-zones) and mp3s as ringtones. I would recommend this to anyone looking to keep the 6133.

Any concerns about that voiding the warranty on the phone? Though, I guess if the phone is broken, they'd have a hard time telling that it wasn't the right firmware on it... 🙂

I had mine flashed while it was under my return time, so if something had gone wrong than I would have returned it.

As for the warranty, if I do have to send it back to Nokia it would take a really sharp tech to tell if it had been flashed.

It turned out great and got rid of the bugs that the 6133 has.

Hi all,
I was SO excited about the Nokia 6133...back in Oct. i looked at it for days before it was available to be sold, and before i really had $150 to dish out. I encountered the same issue with the picture messaging. I called T-Mobile and they were able to get the phone to do the picture messages by having me do Restore Factory Settings. But ofcourse, that reset a lot of the customizing i had done (in like a week, i knew the phone quite well 😛) But later on that day, the battery went dead and when i started the phone back up, it wouldnt fully load the main screen, it just kept going to a blank white screen (much like when it wouldnt do the picture messaging) and looping back to trying to load the main screen..it would get as far as ...

Neither T-Mobile nor Nokia have fixed this problem since I reported it to them several times over the last four months. I personally don't think they will ever fix this model and will never put a software update out. I think we need to put more pressure on them to send fixes for their phones, instead of just giving away bonus minutes. T-Mobile customer service is cool most of the time, but giving bonus minutes for common problems they dont understand or wont fix gets old.

I just purchased this phone about a week ago, and I was having the same problem (phone shutting down when you try to send a picture message). I called T-Mo; the rep informed me to restore the factory settings and DO NOT change the picture message settings once the restore function was peformed. Once I did that, it worked for me--knock on wood, no problems so far.
