I work for T-Mobile. I was browsing through some files a couple weeks ago and saw some info on it, but I knew that it was only tentative. But when I came into work today, I saw that they finally announced it on Streamline, which is the internal news source for T-Mobile employees.

From the main Streamline page, go over to the right side and click on the tab that says "News Search". Under Headline, type in the word "Upcoming" and click on the search button. Click on the top blue link. The date at the end should be 9/6. There ya go.

I realize it is a rumor, but on Howardforums.com they are talking about the 6133 being released late September/early October on T-mobile. Remember, it is only a rumor, but comes from members that work for T-mobile. 😁

I spoke to a T-Mobile cust service rep yesterday and she confirmed that the 6133 will be available in stores this coming Monday 9/18. I stopped by one T-Mobile owned store though and they did not have any info on it yet. They said sometimes they don't get any info on new phones until a day or 2 before they get them. Neither of the people I talked to had a price for the phone yet either.

Hi All,

Just wondering, does T-Mobile have lower phone testing standards than Cingular? It seems odd that they would approve the phone for release and Cingular was constantly asking Nokia to fix issues with the phone to the point where they just canceled the phone.

Well, based on everything I've read I'm not a fan of T-Mobile but I'm hoping the release of this phone will allow for more availability of unlocked versions that I could purchase and sign up with Cingular.

Well, that being said I'm wondering why Cingular was so anal retentive in the testing of this phone so much so that they decided to cancel the phone when it wouldn't pass muster. I guess it remains to be seen if this phone is truly plagued with a lot of techie issues once it is released by T-Mobile.

I wonder if it doesn't have something to do with the VMI issue that the latest S40 phones seem to be having. Cingular's network is still, IMHO, in a somewhat chaotic state. We've seen on these forums that some people can get their VMI working correctly with a 6131. Some can't. It suggests there's still differences in Cingular's network that are probably causing strange software issues.

I don't think Cingular tests any better than any other carrier. They've released some phones with some really glaring software issues.

A few select locations will get the phone on Sept 18 and it should be in all retail locations by Oct 9. For those in the Seattle area, one of the select locations will be in the Factoria (Bellevue) Tmobile store. I just got off the phone with a tmobile cust rep and he confirmed it, the 6133 is definitely coming to TMO. Another Nokia he confirmed is the 6030 bar phone.

Guess the date is truly October; calls I've made to local TMobile stores are the typical "haven't heard a thing about any new Nokias".

Does anyone know how long after the phone releases with TMobile unlocked versions will become available?
