It worked on my phone, minus the IM features everything else works so far. It was a long 6 minutes to flash the firmware, and hours to realize I needed the USB flash driver, it was wirth my $13.

agreed.
is cingular super restrictive? not really. There are a few things though.

what it really comes down to is that this is a really cool phone. even with cingy's restrictions it's great. but without it's better.

i posted a lengthy post about it earlier.

my best advice is to do your research first. i used davinci and read their forums thoroughly to make sure i was doing it properly

if debrand the phone still work the IM? I can IM hotmail after debrand

IM is still labeled as texting but as far as MSN/hotmail you can use EQO

and after debranding the phone go to the Sony Ericsson website and it will help setup the phone setting again. Including MMS, email and wap settings.

EQO is an all in 1 IM program and it also is like a mobile Skype phone so if you have unlimited data you can do VoIP (Voice IP) instead of your minutes.
