I am having to soft reset every day. This is not isolated to this one Treo 700w. I am on my second one because of the same problem. I am not doing anything intensive. Maybe a web page or two, some PDA calendar and contacts lookups. What the hec?! Am I supposed to do this everyday??! Anybody else with the same problem? OR am I so unlucky as to get the two Treos that do this.
Thanks in advance.

Are you managing your open applications? Hold down the OK button to open the Running programs list. If you're just clicking the X button in the top right corner of the program when you're done, you're not closing the program. You need to go to this screen to actually stop a program and free up those resources. This may help.

Sorry to be sooo stupid, but I just got the 700. I am just reading this forum for information and saw this "reset" question. What is a "soft reset" and how do I do it? So far I really like my phone (first PDA), but have had a couple of problems with the cell phone part. Thanks.

A soft reset for Windows Mobile is like a restart for your PC. To conduct a soft reset on the Treo 700w, first take off the battery cover. On the left, near the stylus sheath, you'll notice a small hole with the word "reset" next to it. Insert the tip of the stylus into the hole. This will perform a soft reset.

Do not confuse this with a hard reset, which actually erases all of your stored information and returns the software to factory-new conditions. To conduct a hard reset, hold down the red "hang up"/power button while conducting a soft reset. The phone will then ask you if you want to erase all data. If you select "yes" you will perform a hard reset. If you select "no" this should perform a standard soft reset.

I have the phone for a week and I haven't have the need to do a soft reset yet. Maybe take it to the local VZ store where they have a tech on site and have it look at. I'm using word, calendar extensible and no problems yet. 🙂
