My take: the Moto HS850. I like to be able to turn it off just by closing the little boom (instead of pushing and holding a button and never being completely sure if it is off.) That way when it is in my pocket, I know my phone will ring and I can just open it to answer. To use the headset once you answer a call, you just open the boom and put it on your ear and the call automatically goes over to the headset. If you keep the headset open and on your ear, it is the same as any other type of Bluetooth headset.

Bottom line, a separate on/off switch is useful, whatever form it takes as opposed to using a multi-purpose button. Just my opinion.

If you like style or miniaturization, just go to a site like Expansys and see the entire range of...

I use the H700 and it works perfectly. I am very happy with it. I had the 850, but it didn't work real well with the Treo 650, so I started using the Treo headset. Now with the Moto H700, I'm back in business with the Treo 700w.

For convenience alone, you should consider getting Palm's own bluetooth headset that it sells for the Trios. It is very small and lightweight and seems to have very good clarity. It synch easily with my phone. Most importantly, it uses the same chargers that the phone uses at home and in car. In addition, you get a travel charger with the headset which can be used as an extra at the office or travel. That is a $29.99 item alone! However, beware, the car charger I got from Verizon plays havoc with my 2006 Mercedes electrical system when I plug in the bluetooth headset for charging (but not the phone??). I went and got the Palm brand car charger and I have had no problems. Weird.

I tried the palntronics voyager 510 and the scala 500 and get a terrible amount of static out of both. Is there a way to fix that or are those headsets less compatable than others?
