just my two cents.
I have had my treo 700 for about two days and I previously had a samsung i730. I hated the treo 650 ... because it was palm os and it didn't feel right in my hands for emails and texting, but this device is really sharp. actually I am writing this review on the treo. needless to say I am impressed with the device. although the reception is not as good as the i730... havnt dropped a call... but lost reception once. in an area when I have 2 bars with the 730. I like the feel of the keys and the keypay light stays on longer than 5 seconds...a proble with the 730...the camera is a plus but not the selling point... I cannot stress how easy it is to navigate on the web and on the device. this is trully a one handed device. ...

BOSS-HOGG,
How much did it cost with a 2 year contract? Does Verizon have any deals going on that haven't been made "public"?
Based on yout review I'd say it's work the $499.00 they say it will go for???

TIA!

Ive been using one for a week. Im not sure on costs, as i didnt pay for mine. Web navigation is very easy as stated, alot better after you install flash and java.

Since Verizon also carrys the HTC Wizard with EVDO, that is my choice for smartphones, the treo700 doenst even compare to it. If i had to buy either one, it would not be the 700, but hey, its just for work i dont pay for it 🙂

Ill probably purchase the Wizard by spring for pesonal use.. the treo's screen is just too small and i lock it up too often.

You've been using for a week? How many times has it locked up on you? What kinda things were U doing when it locked? U think this is Window locking up, or some h/w issues?

Since HTC/i-mate only makes GSM phones... 🙄

Considering I'm in the market for a CDMA/Verizon phone...

The Treo 700W is looking pretty good... 😈

Um.. then explain to me why i have in my hands an HTC Wizard on CDMA with EVDO?? Every geeksquad double agent in the USA has one. I do not work for GS but my roommate does.

I locked mine up today multitasking IE, Windows Media, and email all running at the same time. The system ram is too small, only 25mb. Right now im DLing MP3s off IE, and thats the only thing running and it has 4mb mem left and its slowing down. Very dissapointed. Other co-workers experence it locking 1-2 times a day doing basic tasks. The more i use the phone, the more i hate it. Its just...

how many people will actually be downloading MP3s? much less also running windows media and doing email all at the same time, all the time? i have a hard time believing that any WM5 phone would be able to do all that stuff you are trying to do all at the same time. There is only so much you can put into a small package with a limited power life. I would think that this thing should be able to hold up under 99% of user's tasks.

wow this POS is not worth 620 bucks!!!! so far it crashed twice today doing basic functions. Java is not on the machine so forget advanced apps, games, or some websites. You got to be really rich or dumb to pay that much for a device that is inferior to most other smartphones

If you are such an IT pro you think you would be able to figure it out? I am sure it has some type of terminal service available.

Spare me the attitude please. Of course it has terminal service, but that does not mean that it does RDP or does it well. Neither Motorola nor Microsoft's site are clear on this point. Since I don't have one in my hand it makes it difficult to "figure it out." At this point I am relying on early release documentation and forums like this to help me make an informed decision. This is a question that might be easily answered by someone who is reviewing this unit. My areas of expertise are in servers, programming, web etc (not phones and handheld devices). I should be able to look to a forum like this to get friendly interaction and useful information, not insults and attitude. Professional infers more than just expertise in a narrow area, it a...
