newbie needs info!!
Hey guys, thinkin about grtting this phone. But i just want to use it for regular voice calls and a few text messages. I was told in the retail store,that I have to purchase a data plan in order to activate. Any one else out there know of this? please help!!!!!!!!

You do not NEED to get the data plan for calls and text messages. If you have any WIFI hot spots around you can use them for websurfing.

you dont need the data plan for calls and text messages , some one is lying to you , the only thing is if your purchasing a new contract from verizon they give you a hundred dollars off the phone if you sign up for the data plan , thats the only thing , instead of 399.00 you will pay 299.00 if you choose the data plan
