UTStarcom PPC-6700 / XV-6700 / HTC Apache

Utilizing Yahoo with OUtlook, so i can get email for the PPC 6700

I just got my ohone and im trying to receive e-mail with it. Can someone tell me how to use yahoo through outlook, I want to get my yahoomail through my PPC 6700, someone please help

Funny...I just called Sprint 5 minutes ago about this. I called yesterday and the tech. was not real good and told me it was a yahoo problem. Called today and got it going. You have to set up a POP3 account. Set up a new account.

Set up a new account. Page 1/4
Enter your yahoo address

Next

2/4 Enter your name, user name and password. Click the save password box.

Next

3/4
Set the account type to POP3 and make a name for this account. Call it what you want.

Next

4/4 Server info. Very important to be correct.
Incoming mail: pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com
(if you have sbcglobal put sbcglobal. If is is something else, use that extention)
Outgoing mail: smtp.sprintpcs.com
Domain: blank
Click options: go to page 2/...

Don't you need to sign up for yahoo's paid mail ("Mail Plus") for 19.99/year to get POP access to your yahoo email?

I thought yahoo does not provide free POP access.

Hmmm. I'm not sure. I have SBC Yahoo with my phone company so I'm not sure it that was all included. I don't think so. You can always email them to find out. When I emailed them to ask about setting up Outlook, they didn't mention anything. Perhaps I didn't owe any more per year because of what I pay to the phone company to use Yahoo as my ISP.
