Media quality
How good does MP3's sound when played on it? what encoder is everyone using to encode the videos? How good do they look when played? I'm trying to find out if it's good enough so that I won't need to buy another MP3/video player.

For me MP3 playback hasn't been spectacular but it's not horrible either. I only use my phone for music during workouts and it does a good job for that but this is hardly as good as a dedicated MP3 device. This could be because of the ear buds it comes with, the encoding of my MP3, the storage card being slow or a combination.
Video? I haven't used the camera to get video. My guess is that since this is a Windows based phone that the encoder being used is Windows Media Encoder.
On the whole, it's a nice phone. If you are an audiophile you really should get a dedicated MP3/Video playback device. But if you want a cool phone that can also play music then this is the one.
