How to keep my number?

simple-one

Jan 12, 2006, 9:29 PM
My Sprint contract ended last week and I had to settle for the Audiovox with the understanding that I could bring it back in 30 days if (when) the 2125s come in.

I see the 2125 on the website but it is not in the stores.

Here's the problem... The company rep told me that if I bought the phone on the website I can't keep my phone number. He said that the store cannot help me with the activation either. What a bummer!

Am I missing something here? Any advice would be welcome.

I just transfered my four phones from Sprint today using the Cingualr site. However while trying to find out how to do this, I got four different answers from four different Cingular people BUT did finally manage to transfer my phone numbers. The KEY I beleive is not letting your original number go i.e. keep the Sprint contract valid until you transfer! 🙂

Hmm . . . you could try calling into Telesales (866-732-4852) they're usually pretty helpful, though if you already have a Cingular account, they might not be able to make commission, & therefore NOT be quite so helpful.

Or email me, I'm in b2b support, I might be able to help.

japhy,

Thanks for your offer of assistance. I have resolved my problem. Here's what we did...

Since I had only been with Cingular for a week, we changed my contract from 2 year to month-to-month. That way I could upgrade with phone sales. I had the phone delivered to the Cingular store so they could be assured of receiving the original phone. I then switched to a 2 year plan.

Better watch out what you wish for.

I think that the phone that I got was a return and am waiting for a replacement. I thought it would be a true upgrade, but it is not to me. The accessibility is very limited in availability. I cannot read who my incoming call is coming from. It is very frustrating! I am missing my Audiovox. 😢
