You need to call your cellphone people and have data support walk you through the set up. I can't remember the steps, but initially I had the same problem. Calling them will save you a lot of heart ache and stress. 😁

Ok guy...
Not only have I been through the forums, but I've spent hours on the phone both with Cingular tech support and data guru's... As well as with HTC device support.....

I still get the
"Unable to obtain a server-assigned IP address. Try again later or enter an IP address in Network settings." error when I try to connect to my wireless network.

I have my router set up to allow anybody to connect, no encryption, nothin.

I have unchecked the box in the PPC settings for the proxy, per both the forums and HTC support....

Please somebody help me.... I am so desperate.

Well you are evidently talking to the wrong data people. You need the tier two data support staff for Cingular. They will walk you right through the sent up. They have help me through it twice. When I first got my 8125 and when I had to replace it when I lost it. Both time no problem. Quick frigging stressing for nothing and tell customer service to get you to tier two data people asap! Don't settle for no one but them.

Is your wireless network a G-only network?
If so, change it to allow non-G clients OR change the registry to allow your phone to connect to wireless G networks.

Also, make sure your DHCP server is set up to allow enough IP addresses to accomodate the phone and all of your other wireless devices.
