The 8125 runs Pocket Internet Explorer. Is there any way I can run Netfront, Opera, or Firefox? If so, how do I download these? Do I have to use the ActiveSync, or can I download it straight to the phone itself? I tried both Netfront, and Firefox and it wouldnt let me run them. If anyone can help me with this it would be greatly appreciated!

Go to mini.opera.com. The Opera browser is pretty cool for this phone. Enjoy!

I have the cingular 2125 and the MDA. With the 2125 i just went to the opera website and downloaded the program directly from my phone and within seconds i was ready to go. With the MDA it hasn't been that easy to say the least. I have downloaded the program three times and when i go to install the phone says that it doesn't have java thus the program will not function!! Help!!

Do you have any other ideas for other web browsers? Opera is much faster than PIE, but I dont know if I like it. I have to go to Midlet to open it, and I cant switch it to the whole screen. Also, you cant just click on the address bar and enter a website. There is about 5 clicks to get to a new website, unless you add every website you access to your Favorites. Ive heard of NetFront, but I cant get it to work. Any other ideas regarding Browser options would be greatly appreciated. When connected to EDGE or GPRS the PIE is soooo slow!!! It is perfect under WIFI though.

I have D/L'ed the Opera browser. Are you d/l'ing Opera Mini or Mobile? You should download the Beta 2 of Opera Mobile for WM5. It works like a charm and I can open it with out using my Midlet Manager.

I have the Cingular 8125.

Do you download that directly to your phone, or do you use ActiveSync? What website are you getting Opera Mobile from?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Also, do you have Media Net, or Unlimited PDA? I have the Unlimited Media Net, so maybe thats why its not letting me download Opera Mobile. I tried downloading it again, and it asked me for my network password. For some reason its giving me problems.

Thanks in advance.

Here ya go, try this 🙂

Paste this in your IE if you want, OR just download it on your home PC then transfer the CAB file over to your 8125 thru active sync. Then run the cab rile by finding it through File Explorer. A couple of servers on that page DO ask for a password and all that goodness, not sure why though. BUT.. I do know for a fact, if you pull the box down and select "UK - JISC Mirror Service HTTP", that will not ask for a password. There a lot others that don't, you just have to keep trying til you find one that doesn't. 🙂 I hope that helps!
