Can't end task [help]

Gattsama

I opened "text messages" then switched to another program. The "text messages" program locked up (I can not open it). Went to running programs and choose 'stop' (and 'stop all'). Get a message saying:

"This program is not responding because it is busy, waiting for a response from you, or has stopped running"

I choose 'end task', there's a slight pause, but then the 'runing programs list' still shows 'text messages' and I still can't activate/open the program.

Any ideas/help/suggestions?
Thanks in advance...

Have you tried resetting the device or power-cycling it?

i get the same thing too this week. i suspect it's the Pocket MSN that's created a "Hotmail" account in my Text Message application. by default, it has 3 accounts: MMS, Outlook E-Mail, and Text Messages (which is SMS). somehow after i started using Pocket MSN i see a 4th account, "Hotmail," which syncs my 12+ mail folders and perhaps the header information of my 1,000+ hotmail messages.

problem may be compounded by the fact that i'm using Windows Live Mail flavor of hotmail service, which is experimental, and ActiveSync 4.2 Beta.

i did a hard reset (via Start / Settings / System / Clear Storage), reinstalled and reconfigured all applications *without* touching the Pocket MSN application, and all is well so far.

any other thoughts ou...
