Sprint sells a phone extremely similar to this phone. It is called the PPC-6700 by Audiovox and it cost somewhere between 450-500 dollars. It is in on the Sprint website as well as people are selling it on EBAY already.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GSM »

The Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) is the most popular standard for mobile phones in the world. GSM service is used by over 1.5 billion people across more than 210 countries and territories [1]. The ubiquity of the GSM standard makes international roaming very common between mobile phone operators, enabling subscribers to use their phones in many parts of the world. GSM differs significantly from its predecessors in that both signaling and speech channels are digital, which means that it is considered a second generation (2G) mobile phone system. This fact has also meant that data communication was built into the system from very early on. GSM is an open standard which is currently developed...

Correction: The Cingular 8125 WILL be rockin the WiFi, I repeat, it WILL have WiFi! Of the 802.11b flavor to be exact.

This comes straight off of both the Cingular device comparison matrix as well as the display price tag. Which for those of you who have access is clearly posted on CSP. Still no word on release date however. But having a display price tag printed up and having it on the rebate forms are both good signs.

Not to be a dick, but do you really think you're telling us something we don't already know?

HTC Makes that phone for many carriers.. 😕

All I want to know is WHEN WHEN WHEN Cingular will be releasing it... I'm dying to upgrade from my MPx220

Based on info available to agents Cingular won't release it before Jan. 14th AT THE EARLIEST. Though it's on the rebate form (which runs through Feb. 11th) and there's a price tag printed, the actual price sheet (which currently runs through 1/14) lists it as not available. After the 14th, who knows? But considering that it's on the rebate form, I would expect that it will be out before Feb. 11th.

Keep in mind this is speculation based on available info....NOT BY ANY MEANS A DECLARATION OF RELEASE DATE.

I do appreciate the insider info, but the Nokia 9300 (850 band) was on the rebate form and price list in August '05 and it still isn't out. (That was the phone I was after before this one was announced).

I'm not sure why there is such a delay with cingular releasing these phones...but it really sucks. I know it will come out the day after I drop seven bills on a QTEK or K-Jam.

That's why I said "at the EARLIEST". The Moto a630 was on the price sheet for months and was never released. The sheet lists both the 9300 and the 8125 as not yet available. I've seen both on printed material (the 8125 on price tags and the 9300 on in-store POP material) but that doesn't mean that they'll be released anytime soon.

Patience is a virtue, ESPECIALLY when dealing with Cingular.

The Motorola A 630 was released only in certain market areas--specifically those where Cingular took over the SunCom stores. I purchased two of them and had posted pictures back in last April of it.

The Nokia 9300 was released to the business sector. I'm not sure if it is still available now.

Yes, that's a terrible thing because there are non-business people who aren't able to purchase through the business sector that would love to have had that phone as well as others.

Cingular needs to drop more of the high end phones because there's alot of people out there who will purchase them other than business types. There are times when I have gone to www.myworldphone.com or www.celluloco.com or www.samstores.com or some of the other we...
