v3c with .02 firmware to buy?

Jun 2, 2006, 11:29 AM
Does anyone know of a site that sells the v3c with the .02 firmware (obex enabled)?

I've already tried eBay and the sellers do not state what firmware is on it already.

Thanks in advance.

I wonder why they keep putting it on and taking it off those Motorola phones.

The original Version .02 had OBEX, .03 took it off, .04P put it back on (and enabled VZ Navigator).

The new Q also has OBEX, the first revision will not. The Nokia 6256i has it, but the stores shelved that product.

Why all of the teetering on OBEX?

So they can make you use stuff like Get It Now and VZTones, etc. They want you to pay for placing songs or pictures on your phone.

I originally had the .03 firmware and found out that it was the .02 that allowed OBEX. That's why I was asking if anyone sells the .02 v3c.

I got so pissed that I did some research and found out this AWESOME guide to enabling OBEX for use with Motorola Phone Tools. URL: http://mark.cdmaforums.com/V710_SeemEdit.htm

Why should I pay $150 with a contract for my v3c and not be able to use all of the bluetooth functionalities? Other Carriers make you pay for a phone but at least they let you use MPT to place data onto it.

Another thing that I got pissed about was the fact that I couldn't back up my ...

I agree with everything you are saying, but the teetering back and forth is about OBEX still puzzling.

There is no reason why Verizon would have OBEX on the V3c .02 original release, taken it off the Pink RAZR/ .03 firmware and put the OBEX back onto the V3c with the .04P firmware, then left it off the V3m.

The Q has a full BT stack on the original release and the new patch will remove it. The Nokia 6256i had a full stack all along.

Any theory you can think of, GIN, ringtones, expansion card, VCast, etc., as a reason does not explain the inconsistency.
