Multiple-entry Contacts - Wrong Number Dialed!

Some of my contacts have multiple phone numbers. If I enter a speed-dial code, I am taken to the correct phone number, but when I hit send, the phone dials the number that is highest on the screen for that person, regardless of which number is designated as the default. For example, suppose I have entries for home and office, and the office number is designated as the default. If I enter the speed-dial code for the office number and hit send, the home number is dialed (because it is displayed above the office number). And the display doesn't tell me which number is being dialed.
I would appreciate any help.

I have not really figured out the behavior of this contact list either. There seems to be a "master" entry for each name with multiple numbers that somehow links to individual entries for each phone number. Scroll through your contact list and you should find an entry with no icon (the master) that refers somehow to the various specific entries with icons (home, work, mobile, etc.) If you assign speed dial to the specific entry, you get the desired number. When you voice dial it seems to automatically seek the master and expect you to qualify it with an extra word (or it asks for it.) If your speed dial is the master, I have no idea what it defaults to or how to force it, which sounds like your problem.

When you look up your contact, scroll right and left and you will see the icon change. For example, if Joe Blow has three numbers: Mobile, Home and Work. Look up Joe Blow in your contacts (you don't have to open it). The icon on the right will be one of the three numbers, if you arrow right, you will see the icon change to the next number on the list, and so on. Does that make sense?

The key is that you don't have to open the contact to choose one of the multiple numbers saved.

Yes, I noticed this. However, if I use the right or left key to select the work number (which is also the default), it still dials the home number.

Just tried mine out on several different numbers and if I have Office set as the default and toggle left or right to Home or Mobile, it will call the number I chose without any problems
