😕
I tried this phone on Cingular because it wasn't available on VZW yet- great phone except for one big design flaw. The speaker is placed such that when you are holding the phone in your hand, you are actually covering up the speaker! On almost ever other Moto I have owned going back over 10 years, the speaker is on the outside of the flip, not the base like it is on the Razr. As I use the speakerphone a lot, I had to return it because that 'feature' made it impossible to hear out of the speaker and hold the phone in my hand at the same time. Too bad, because otherwise it was a great phone.

dude, unless you have used the cdma version you shouldnt be harpin on it. moto has revamped the razr. switched it up a bit if you will. im not saying its going to be a perfect phone, but it is definitely be an improvement. i have played around with this phone and also the gsm version. the feel of the 2 is completely different. the moto rep also said 'its a different phone in the same sweet shell' -gboys

Well, unless you can say for sure that the speaker isn't going to be on the bottom of the phone on the back side- then no matter how great the phone is- you will still be covering up the speaker whenever you use it and hold it in your hand.

yes they put the speaker behind it where the hand blocks it. I know what you mean by annoying, you woild think they would fix this when they launched the falcon series of Nextel phones. They put the speaker there and it was annoying when on a PTT call, flipping the phone over so you can hear the person clearly.

if you are over thirty and even more so over fotry chances are your opinion doesn't matter. most people in those beyond thier twenties gripe about worthles nonsense. i work for cingular, but have verizon for personal use, and have never once heard a complaint about the speakerphone. you obliously don't know how to talk on the phone. i have two gsm razrs never had that problem. and one of the cool features other than looking cool, which is probably why you bought the phone is BLUETOOTH! get a headset. the razr is sick.!EV-DO sick! Bluetooth sick! the lack of OBEX now that's something to complain about.
